Dawg. Not even god could forgive that performance.

Yeah when the same problems have been persistent for three years, good will and positivity can evaporate as early as game 1 if it looks like nothings changed

Worst home/season opener since? Haha

Probably since last season. Losing I think 5-2 to the hawks who finished with like 50 points…

Oilers getting slaughtered in their first game by the same score makes me feel a bit better haha

Yes, good call. That is probably worse than losing to the reigning President's Trophy winners with the best goalie in the world.

Hopefully this just happens 12 times in the next 20 games so Sullivan can finally be poop canned.

If we didn't know better, SILKY Sullivan at times almost appears to be purposefully mismanaging his troops.

However, from a pure fashion point of view he's dressed very GQ and sporting new hair [no gray]… the Rudy Giuliani look! Haha. Is that how he spent the summer. Plugs?

While the Somerset guy stretches it a tad… the physicality is invisible. When Cooley ran over Jarry and the *TEAM* looked on - that was GAME OVER - STRIKE ONE. Crosby was trying to show what's needed.

As for Karlsson (another SILKY problem) - but, if you can't practice - don’t play 'em.

Franchise is a freakin disaster..1 game in and the fans are already booing..Can you blame them? It's a perimeter team yet again..But hey, keep running the same crap on ice every year.

I hear swayman wants out of boston..Oh no cap space and no one to trade. Other than the core who would want this slop on ice. I get it it'e the 1st game but Yikes..Last year they needed time to gel..What the excuse this year?

I read the owner was at the game last night. Hopefully he does what's best for business?

I agree with you on this one. I said last week that he probably shouldn't play the first game with next to no practice in camp and no preseason games. However, while he was terrible last night, he wasn't the only one and was far from the only reason they lost. Malkin's line was awful, Sids not that much better. Graves is a f'n disaster. To my eyes he just didnt look interested in the getting into battles on the boards and poop. He's the softest on the team by far. I wouldnt put the first goal on Jarry even though it was the first shot but some of the other ones he has to save.

The bright spots for me were the bottom 6 looked decent, especially 3rd line, and Tanger/Grz looked decent as well.

Okay matt the first thing would be to: FIRE SULLIIVAN ALREADY..Case Closed. Maybe dubas can do his job then? Get men with balls already..I'd start with gruden and that dude oingo boingo or whatever his name is?

I seen warner the owner at the game last night...Hopefully he heard the boos from the fans.

Unless you like crosby doing all the dirty work he shouldn't be doing..Alot of respect for him.

I am tired of this perimeter team already..Oh I heard swayman wants out of boston..But the penguins don't have space..Thanks Dubas and EK..

PS: 0-4 on the PP and 3 shots..Glad EK is here again.

Yes, Sullivan reached his expiry date a few seasons ago...but he's probably not going anywhere.

Not that I had a load of confidence in them before this season started but I am still going to give it 5 to 10 games to assess a bit more. Again, I have never once thought they'd be a stellar/great team this season but I do expect more than what I saw last night and still think we could see better.

Swayman still wants out after signing an 8 year/66 mill contract a few days ago?

Dude here's what EK said:

“I think we did some good things (Wednesday),” Karlsson said. “It was the first game fully together. We’re going to get in some situations we’re not comfortable with or familiar with just yet and we just have to make sure we adjust for it the second time around. Again, I think we made some good decisions.

Delusional? Yes

No, not totally delusional. There were some good things about last night but much more bad than good haha.

Hopefully they play a tighter game tonight for Blooms first NHL start....I'm assuming he will get the nod but maybe not.

Right, people seem to forget how bad they were for most of last year. I'm sticking with my preseason prediction of an 85-90 point pace at the TDL this year, then they'll trade a bunch of vets, and who knows the rest of the year (doesn't really matter).

Rangers lineup is out. Rempe is a healthy scratch. Played a speedy skill guy over him. Fire Sullivan.
- Tojo.

Now your learning..Besides..The "Penguins team" of soft and "skilled players" really did score alot last night? They were blanked just in case you didn't see or watch or watch the slaughter? Wash rinse and repeat

Keep Sullivan and the soft perimeter players again....Wash, rinse, repeat

Swayman and BOS were publicly fighting about his contract negotiations -- but now he's signed long term for big money, so he's not going anywhere soon.

I thought Tanger was pretty poop last night. He’s gotta make better reads. He, like many others on this team lack the speed to make up for a bad play.

Yeah, I mean, pretty much every player had at least one poop moment, some of them many, but for a brand new pairing vs a juggernaut offense with 4 lines rolling I thought they did a decent job and were somewhat in sync.

1 game against the defending Presidents Trophy doesnt cause me to overreact. We will see what this team is made of tonight. Back-to-back games after taking a beating is the perfect way to assess how a team responds.

If we fall out of it early, then start moving assets early. Again, the priority should be to maximize our draft pick heading into the lottery. You cant rebuild or retool while constantly finishing middle of the pack.

Mike Sullivan being fired is unlikely to make a difference. These players play how they play. At this point in their careers, they arent changing. A new coach coming in would likely just lead to more problems.

I dont think Sullivan has the answers, but I dont think many coaches would.

Tanger often looks to make the fancy/difficult play instead of the safe one. Having 2 of your 3 forwards at the red line while under pressure doesn't help though.

It was funny when the commentators torched Graves for a turnover when he had a guy open for half a minute and proceeded to wait and wait all while telegraphing the pass. They guy is ass

Drew is going to lose superstar status if he continues down the path he played last night. Terrible would be an upgrade.

Graves is currently a Sullivan/Quinn problem. Let's see how they handle it tonight. Does Shea play? Thereby making him a Dubas problem.

Liljegrem was benched last night. It can be done.
