I watched the whole game. Dont have a whole lot of issues with the Pens last night besides a few gaffes that ended up in their own net. They did kind of lose their cohesiveness a bit after coughing up the second one but looked really good the first period... Maybe PP could do better than 25% haha.. if so they probably get at least a point. The PP has looked pretty good overall though.

I thought Pools stood out more in good ways first two games than McG. Agree McG should maybe go down and get 1st line/1st PP time for a bit. He hasn't been bad, or hurt the on ice product but he also hasn't really stood out in good ways either. To my eyes it's been somewhat vanilla so far.

So far, that just feels like his game. He does the common things really well for a twenty year old. And you'd figure if you left him there he'd just improve. But nothing about McGroarty's game has really stood out like a game changer that you'd expect from such a highly rated prospect.

Also, and this is more towards Vic's comments, but isn't McGroarty supposed to play either wing about the same?

Putting Rusty on PP1 was a mistake for his first game back. Sully completely forgot about Bunting net front?

I have no clue. I’ve always been upfront about how I know (frank) all about prospects. If he’s comfortable at RW then my point doesn’t stand, but I absolutely would not scratch Puljujarvi for McGroaty. JP has put in a ton of work to come back from injury and has really stood out. Sends the wrong message, IMO.

But anyways, may thing right now with McGroarty is that I think he’s tangibly improved since the start of the preseason. If he’s on an upward projector I want him to stay on that.

Yeah, overall JB was good. Can't fault him on the 3-on-0 (how does that even happen in an NHL game?). I thought on the 3rd goal he was a bit off his angle, but he also made a lot of really good saves that more than made up for that one. He was at least NHL-average in that game, which is quite good for a young rookie tender in that environment.

Yeah he overstepped to his left and gave Marner that far side. As a right handed shot, that shouldn’t go in but Marner is a goal scorer — play should have never happened if Sid didn’t leave that puck and put Petts flat footed on the blue line.

Haha thanks, yeah we're good. We were without power for a handful of days and had a giant oak limb fall on the roof of my house and puncture the roof/dining room ceiling, but other than that, we are all good! (frank)er shook the whole house.
