It will. I think if they can get fair value for Liljegren, you trade him and keep Timmins as the 7D. Gets you the cap space you need.

Like I said earlier, Leafs need a real shutdown 3C or a veteran RHD for Liljegren.

I don't think that's asking too much and actually fills at least one area of need.

Agreed. And have to think him getting in and logging minutes is a showcasing move there too. Definitely think he is going to move first and foremost

Wasn't baseball 7 games back when it was 2 rounds?

Man...the Jays haven't won a championship that was more than 2 rounds, just like the Leafs.

- Zezel

It was so much tougher to get to the playoffs back then.
Half the league didnt make it like in the nhl.

Miss the game last night, took the kids to the Evil Dead musical but saw the in depth highlights.
So far all of Tre's moves seem to be paying off, results we havent had in a very long time.
Still very early but a very good sign nonetheless.

Onto the next game!!!

It's early but it's nice to see what consistent goaltending and a good top-4 blueline can do for the whole team.

The west is weak. The leafs are the beasts of the east.

We're all glad he scored, but he was struggling out there tonight.

It wouldn’t be a Leafs game if they didn’t give us a scare.

How'd you like Evil Dead? I've seen it twice in previous runs. Got the t-shirt and the poncho.

I mean, 4 games in and we've played Montreal (2-2-0), New Jersey (4-2-0), Pittsburgh (3-2-0) and LA (1-1-2) - I don't think at the end of this year 3 of those teams will be in the playoffs - but the Leafs have generally looked good.

I don't think too many of us would complain - at least not yet - about

Knies - Matthews - Marner
McMann - Domi - Nylander
Lorentz - Kampf - Reaves

For me it's really the Pacioretty/Holmberg - Tavares - Robertson line that needs fixing. Does Jarnkrok in for Robertson do it? One thing I feel is that Holmberg is a very fringe NHL'er and I'd rather have Dewar as a bottom-6 sub -- but it's all line 3 that needs work. I wouldn't mind running that with Pacioretty - Tavares - Jarnkrok to see if they could get something going, but that line is slow and defensively pretty iffy.

And as of today - just 4 games in - It feels like moving out Liljegren and Jarnkrok is a good cap option - especially if Jarnkrok isn't providing a role you need or enough value that you're able to roll with him on a daily basis. An RW with some speed and moxy. Liljegren for Jeannot. LA needs defense, we want a 3RW who can bang bodies and if need be step in for Reaves on the 4th line . . .

I feel like the Leafs missed an opportunity to move on from Robertson. He doesn't want to be here, had an insanely hot preseason, and could/should have been packaged with Lilly for a better 3C option. Now we're 4 games in and he's had 0 pts and very limited impact.

I feel like most gms dont buy too much into pre-season stats.
Its only been 3- 4 games.
No rush to move anyone at this point. Lots of time for robbie and Lily to imrpove their value.
Its good to have depth until others are healthy imo.

I feel like the Leafers could have locked the game down last night when it was 5-0, they just got on their heels a bit too much in the 3rd.

I'm in no rush to move Robertson, per se - but he does need to consistently demonstrate that he is an NHL player and not just someone who can play well against AHL players. I like his work ethic and I do think he's met some hard luck in the early part of the season but he's also been less than impressive in his last couple of games. Bobby McMann started the season at least one if not two spots below Nick on the depth chart and has not only passed him with solid and consistent play, but moved one or two places beyond him. Like when Dewar and Jarnkrok are ready to return I'd be looking at Holmberg and Robertson as two likely candidates to come out of the lineup.

Presently the idea of McMann playing 2LW doesn't feel that far fetched and the idea of Robertson visiting his least favourite seat in the pressbox is also not that far fetched.

So . . .it's only 4 games in, but life as a bubble player is basically proving yourself every day until you finally don't have to anymore.

Durzi out long term according to Utah GM.

Marino stlll week to week.

Kesserling is their 1RHD for the next while...I think Utah gets a deal done for Lily by Saturday.

Jack McBain is the dream. Can play C(below average on the draws)

Likely will be one of their million of 2bd round picks they have.

If they want to get creative Bjugstad is on their IR and is a good bottom 6 C.

Ya, got a little loose and undetailed with a 5-0 lead. Kind of a classic sports occurrence.

Although I imagine those two lines - Kampf and JT - got an earful from Baerubae.

We're all going with Baerubae, ya?

(frank) it, Liljregren for Mcbain.

I do that all day and there is reason for Utah to want to do that as well.

I haven't been that unimpressed with Kampf, but tonight I've been very unimpressed with Holmberg and Robertson - and Tavares. Whoever suggested he's still fighting the flu, I think has it right. JT looks slow and off.
- Monkeypunk

JT said he lost 10 pounds from his bout with the flu.

I give him a free pass.
