They should have gotten him veteran coaching help on the bench.

That is the one thing I think HuGo has failed at so far.

I think they didn't mind the losing the past 2 seasons. St-Louis delivered exactly what they expected from him and the team.

I'm also pretty sure Marty will stick around the whole season whatever the results may be as long as they don't think the atmosphere around the team is hurting the young players development.

After this season however? I think we'll need to see some significant improvement if St-Louis wants to remain headcoach.

yeah, there's only 75 games left to play this year, there's no way things could get better, might as well look forward.

No question MSL makes it through this year.

And I expect he will be back next year, but if the team doe snot start showing improvement as the season goes on, I could see HuGo making sure there is a replacement around, just in case... whether in the front office, Laval or on MSL's bench.

It's not so much that things couldn't get better, they could. I mean they couldn't get much worse anyway.

I guess it's just a little disappoiting that we're still not seeing significant improvement defensively from our current group. Despite being a little older and having more experience than before.

And mind you, that's not just on the defensemen, the whole team is blowing it defensively. At some point, St-Louis and his staff need to find answers on how to fix it.

oh I'm not arguing that part, and last night was as ugly as it gets, but there's a lot of games left to play.

give them some time, a few weeks. they should get better. and yes it's not only the dmen, it's a group of 5.

Of course they won’t fire the coach.

But this team doesn’t show up and are all over the ice.

Not normal going into year 3

Bob Hartley would be my choice

Been a long time since he coached in the big league. Don't know if it would work.
