Some fair points here of course. In comparison however how would fans feel if Draisaitl at 14 mil per 'suddenly' became a 70 point player but his 200' game was better? Come on. In Petey's defence I do think Tocchet actually needs to use him better in the top 6. Garland and Hogs are fine but Petey is not going to fully succeed with those two on his line in a supporting role.

I just find the 'it's only been 6 games this season' kind of funny is all but it needs to be talked about. It's not '6' games...it's like 40 games now dating back to march with 1 goal at 5/5. Time for excuses for this kid is past doesn't matter if we are only 7 games in the season. I have faith he will pull out of it a bit but there are signs of concern.

Sure Tocchet is using Petey in many situations and his TOI is high...but he needs to start producing. 'Scoring in bunches' was reserved for guys like Horvat and a few others we have moved on from lol. Petey is above that and needs to be consistent and has the ability to do so.

And believe me if Tocchet doesn't start using Petey properly I'll be trashing him too. Count on it.

Going to be a tough game tonight after the Penguins lost last night. I will continue to support Pettersson (read excuses to some) but if he is a 70pt player then I’d say his done here.

I 100% want Petey to succeed here. Such a dynamic talent that technically for the time should have been 1OA.

But yes the Pens will be flying out of the gate tonight gonna be a burner.

Wow the Penguins lineup is a full-blown "old balls" roster. Ten of their top thirteen scorers are over the age of 30 (31+). Canucks need to use their speed, like the Oilers did, and they'll fold like a cheap tent with those old legs.

Did Lea quit already?

I don't think there ever was a "Lea".

Really? Pitts are 3-6 on the season, 0-4 so far on a tough western road trip, back to back, terrible goalies, defence is awful and bleeding shots/goals. They're top players are all 35+. Sid 1 goal in 9 games (almost worse than Petey.)

He was one of my favourite Canucks over the years, can’t remember but didn’t the Canucks trade Kyle Wellwood for him, I remember DCT being pissed about that.

Edit: just looked it up, he signed as a free agent not a Wellwood trade.

Inside scoop on the JTM/EP issue...

Frank Seravalli on JT and Petey (Daily Faceoff)

The locker room was quiet, save for the hum of buzzing lights and the occasional shuffle of gear. JT sat on the bench, re-taping his stick in a ritual he hoped would bring some luck in the next game. Across from him, Elias finished lacing up his skates, eyes sharp and focused.

They’d been playing together for a few seasons now, and somehow the clash of JT’s intensity and Elias’s cool precision always seemed to push each other’s buttons. Their relationship was a mixture of unspoken understanding and occasional arguments—a love-hate dynamic that left everyone on the team either amused or a little on edge.

Today had been no different. After a hard practice, JT had been riding Elias for missing a pass, and Elias had snapped back with a quiet, deadly quip that cut deeper than anything loud JT could say. Tensions had simmered until now, where they both sat in an uneasy silence.

Finally, JT cleared his throat, breaking the quiet. “Look, I was just trying to push you, alright? We’re better than this.”

Elias glanced up, and a smile flickered on his face, though his eyes still held a trace of challenge. “You think I don’t know that?” he replied, voice low but edged with a soft laugh.

JT found himself grinning, too, a little surprised at the way the tension between them felt suddenly electric. Without thinking, he reached out, catching Elias’s wrist as he moved to stand. They locked eyes, the air between them charged.

Elias didn’t pull back. Instead, he held JT’s gaze, a faint blush coloring his cheeks. For once, they were silent—not because of tension, but something else, something more hesitant and real. JT leaned in, slowly, and Elias met him halfway, their lips brushing in a tentative, shared moment.

When they pulled back, both were breathless, the moment heavy with the unspoken things that had been building for months. They shared a glance, half-embarrassed, half-amused, and suddenly the silence between them felt comfortable.

“Ready to hit the ice tomorrow?” Elias asked, his smirk finally breaking the quiet.

JT chuckled, patting Elias’s shoulder as they stood. “Yeah. Let’s show them what we got.”

Don't know the man but Manny just seems like a good guy and a great team mate. Hope in the future he'll end up behind the canuck bench.

Also, good to see Captain Okita back, it's been too long.

Jeez, every time I see Boldy play, I think to myself, what could’ve been. That kid would score 50 a year on Pettersson’s wing.
