Trading high-end talent rarely gets you fair value in return, Pettersson isn’t getting traded, both him and the organization made huge commitments to each other. I would trade him for McTavish plus in Anaheim though.

Dakota Joshua’s Return is Close

The Canucks’ bottom-six has played well as of late. Danton Heinen scored twice, and Pius Suter netted one as well against the Blackhawks. Meanwhile, Kiefer Sherwood has two assists, while Teddy Blueger and Nils Aman posted an assist each. The bottom six will only get better when Joshua makes a return to the lineup.

He is reportedly one to two weeks away from coming back after announcing he had successful off-season surgery for testicular cancer. Tocchet said the forward will take some contact at practice starting on Oct. 23.

Joshua had a career year last season, scoring a career-high 18 goals and 32 points in 63 games. He followed up with an impressive playoff performance, scoring four goals and eight points in 13 games. The Canucks extended him to a four-year deal with a $3.250 million cap hit.

From the Hockey Writers. Wonder where he would slot in... bump Hoglander down to the 4th so he can play with Petey and Garland, or slot him on the 4th to start as Hoggy/that line have been playing well.

I think he is a great fit on this team, pretty much overreaction from many fans that just have never liked Pettersson’s game, and they seem to be the most vocal.
My prediction is he will be at minimum a point per game player this year, at minimum.

And why is he getting grief over 11.6m when it was presented as an ultimatum, sign this or your gone.

Pettersson's last 34 games (incl PO's) he has not one 5/5 goal. Not one. Let that sink in for a bit. Yes we are all aware he's getting better at 200' play in a 'Barkov' Style role lol but at 11.6 mil he's paid to score.

So the Miller thing is good JT is probably fed up with his attitude and play. OK in Petey's defense he needs better linemates than Garland Hogs but still he has to make sh!t happen out there especially at 5/5 play. He's being paid like a 110 point player it's time for him to buck up and start filling the fucking net like he is caopable. Folks need to stop making excuses for the guy. Score.

I think you need to sound tougher if you want Petey to be afraid.

They're on a 3 game winning streak and they're 6 games in. If you want to factor in last year individually, fine you are obviously accurate. But I don't think many were complaining when they won the division and got one game from western conference finals. He gets a goal and 2 assists next game and it already doesn't look so bad. He gets a hatty and it's a non-issue. Guy scores in bunches, always has.

Can't argue that he is paid to be a scorer, but everyone is primarily paid to win. They've won the last 3 games he has made a few nice passes and drives to net that have resulted in goals. He's also contributed to the wins in that they ended up with more goals than the other team ... and he was on the ice a significant amount of time.

Lafreniere 7 year $7.45M Cap Hit #NYR ext:

Year 1 $2M Base & 8M Signing Bonus
Year 2 $5.5M & 2M SB
Year 3 $8.5M & 1M SB
Year 4 $7.15M
Year 5 to 7: $6M

Years 3-7 include 8 team No Trade List.

Kids becoming a really good player, I think it was Vantel who scoffed at trading for this guy a few years back. (pipedream) He's also the guy who said the Canucks will regret trading Podkolzin too, though. Moron!!
