I saw the between periods back and forth. He never said he should be looking over screens. Ya know cause no one does that. Taller goalies are even more susceptible to giving up goals through the 5 hole or down low when transitioning to the butterfly. This is not 1975. Kinda goalie 101

You missed it then because he absolutely did say that.

The smaller sample was his time at wing. He struggled putting up 35 to 40 points with 1st line center ice time. He is not capable of putting up that point total at 3C. Cates does not have the puck skills to play center offensively.

The smaller sample size was at wing but he struggled to put up pts at center..? got it You are hoping he is just a terrible goalie and his issues are not fixable. We understand that. Rinse repeat. However, we all know what his issue is. Will he be able to fix it while playing in the NHL...? doubt it

That call in conjunction with the non call on the breakaway was a disgrace. By the way, I was at the game on Tuesday and watched last night. Is OV just that out of shape or is he kinda done? He looks dreadful and disinterested.

Hes just old. Hes like 38/39. He pretty much just stands there these days for one-timers

I know Drysdale is only 22 years old, but I'm starting to like that trade less and less the more I watch him pay.

Yes, he did. He put up points at a much higher rate playing wing than center. I wonder what someone has to do to get people to understand scoring rate?

On Tyler Johnson....

Johnson has not yet signed with a team, but is working out in Boston and staying in game shape...He is a center and still has speed to his game...The Flyers are only one team that I've heard is discussing this internally.. He is an American player and John Tortorella knows his game well... speaking of Tortorella, the seat is getting hot. There are subtle and not-so-subtle smoke signals that leaders in "the room" who've just about had enough of their bench boss. The main thing "Torts" still has in his favor is that CEO Dan Hilferty is a huge believer in him and both GM Danny Briere and POHO Keith Jones still see more positives than negatives for now in keeping the status quo. Johnson is someone who could bring some added veteran stability to an overall young team

such incompetence.

I dont see the need. Unless they decide someone is not part of the solution and move them just go with what you got.

It was longer than the - end of the year. He even got Selke votes and played the entire yr. Let's not act like it did not happen. Torts is just enamored with speed. He was hurt last year and was not really given an opp at a top 9 spot last yr in the center position. He can be a 3rd line center in this league and put up 35 to 40 pts w no pp time while being responsible. Still does not really get Frost to start executing on his chances, nor does it insert a rocket of Selkes ars, but it would be an improvement over Poehling who belongs at 4C.

he played wing at the end of the year when signed. it was like 13 games to so. that is what I was referring to with the small sample.

with the small sample size there are other factors that are easy to recognize that he is omitting, but fools in the room are always the loudest.

no goalie focuses on looking over screens. That is against everything hockey goalie coaches will tell you.

you really have to watch and attend these games. He was a pretty good center for us. If only Frost could hit the broad side of a barn with a tractor we could have had at least a pt last night. Tell the truth. he is killing them.

You really have to learn the game of hockey and work on your reading comprehension. You also need to learn how to use all the information available. Cates was good defensively but horrible offensively as a full time high minute center. He does not have the puck skills to play center in the top 9.

As far as Frost, nice try. Frost is just one of many players that need to be better. You can scapegoat if you want but there are very few players on this team currently who are playing as well as they're capable of and plenty of blame to go around.

Nope, it's specifically Frost who is killing them. Not Zamula or anyone else. Just Frost and only Frost.

If Frost was there instead of Zamula, the pass would have been recieved. Clearly his fault for not being there instead

Frost was the one who yelled for the change from the bench. Absolutely 100% his fault alone.

Funny part is Frost would actually fit inside the gaping hole that is Fedotov's five hole. So you have to at least question Frost on one of the goals against.

Of course you do. I also saw Frost making faces at Fedotov to distract him just before the shot.
