Road teams usually loose more than they win. It is too early in season to examine which is the better team when they haven’t played but a few games and you don’t know the opposing players too well. Noteworthy however when Blackhawks head out west Philips did too - too Manitoba to rejoin Icehogs!
On a side note, I was in your area in the early 1990’s and wish I had more time to be a tourist. I was playing 12 inch softball on a traveling team on a holiday weekend. I’ve checked back though and saw that your area never voted to annex a new name for several towns combined - was to be called Hampton Road - jhawk59
Been gone from there for quite a while, in NC now, just too lazy to change my screen name
I still say win, win whenever you step out on the ice or the football field ((frank)ing Flus and his jack ass O coordinator!)
Hate making excuses for professionals at any level losing. Win or go away. At the professional level, winning is all that matters. |

Just watched a Habs game last night. Kirby toyed the Flyers like little kids, after a MCL and ACL tear. The best Russian player in history was a 1.8 ppg per 60, and Demidov is a 4. He has as many points as kucherov at that age now and it isn’t Halloween yet. You guy might have handed the Montreal Canadiens multiple cups |

Ok ... so what?
Actually let me re-write that .... too bad Ottawa can't say that then? Still upset about the DeBrincat deal that blew up? |

Explain again how Demidov, not in America actually result in scoring in the NHL in 2024-25? Is Eisermann in the NHL this season either? No?
Ok so basically it doesn't, does it - not yet, please save the observation for the season that it applies to, assuming that it still applies ... otherwise it's essentially a bench minor for too many men on the ice - you trotted that one out too soon. Get in the box, now and just wait for it next time, please. |

Hes not criticizing, just making an observation. We desparately need scoring… kd could have drafted both demidov and eiserman. Just an observation. - LFS
He’s being Richard, he does it all the time. Scoring is nice but defence wins championships. If Levshunov becomes a top pairing all purpose defender then that by far was the best choice. |

I don't believe Sharp played PK until 25 26 years old before then he was not reliable in his own end or along the boards he was a floater a lot like Reichel was last year. And you're right it's not apples to apples because Reichel is 2 years younger. - BetweenTheDots
Sharp was not a floater. He didn't play in Philly because they were overloaded at center and apparently didn't have the foresight to put him at LW. At 26 he finished 4th in Selke votes.
His first full season was 24 and he did have a shorty. Stuff like Corsi and differentiating between 5v5 you can't really find before 07-08.
His 144 shots on goal his first full year over 72 games was much different than Reichel's 84 over 65.
His first half season with Philly wasn't impressive in any way shape or form.
My point is that Reichel doesn't know how to play hockey (and neither does Kurashev).

It's easy to see what KD did in offseason. He brought in a few mostly fringe NHL players upping the talent, but not enough to win. Letting the kids play in Rockford. - rpeters01
That is 100% what he did.
But that isn't what he said that he would do. "More competitive" to me would be in the 75 point range. Not another year of being a bottom feeder. Though at least they got enough to help Bedard produce a bit more. |

Rinzel 9pts in 6 games for Gophers. Guess he’s going to set scoring records in the NHL for defensemen. |

There has been criticism of the performance of some forwards on the team this season
I feel strongly that there is a way to receive three lines contributing offensively.
Teravainen and Bedard together works best if there was a strong boards player. I am not a fan of Bertuzzi or Hall. Too much inonsistency and Hall not hustling back defensively. By mid season I would maybe rotate Maroon and call up Hayes - thise two can switch back and forth to 4th line depending on period - to - period strategy.
A second line will hopefully work should Reichel fit
The third line - which really ought to be offensive L2 - must include Nazar. The question is, who to put with him?
I would like to see DelMaestro play regularly by mid season or after trade deadline. If the only way Richardson will do such is to switch Allen with him, then fine let Allen play more TOI in AHL. Next season i want both Allen and DelMaestro to have enough experience at the NHL level insofar as they are not too green but rather can hold a job. Both may turn out to be third pair type but we need to try to see how they may turn out in the NHL.
Martinez here next year. Fine shoukd he not be traded at the trade deadline. Brodie's contract - ok he can.be 6th and spare. Murphy should be given away ar trade deadline before he brings back absolutely nothing
The future on defense needs to be Arty, hopefully BOTH Rinzel and KK. Hope both keep developing. Kaiser can make or break his opportunity for third pair with either Allen or DelMaestro the other half of third pairing - jhawk59
The problem with this is for these guys to get better in the NHL they need to play in the NHL. Unless they're an outlier like Vlasic - they need to take their lumps.
The standard for someone like Allen or Kaiser (who hasn't been very good his last few games either) should be developing consistency and being in better position to make the right play sooner and after 50 games making the right play at game speed maybe 60% of the time.
Everyone getting hard about guys in Rockford reminds me so much of the bullpoop people talked about the Red Wings in the late 00's and how great they were at developing and letting guys mature in the minors. I think they (frank)ed up Korch by demoting him instead of just letting him figure it out with better options than Tinordo or Menga on his off side to support him.
Jack and poop matured from that system when Zberg and Datsyuk started aging out. |

Bedard may not be generational.
Bedard may not have a good shot. But he may.
Hall sucks.
Bertuzzi sucks.
Jones sucks.
Brodie sucks
The team has a piss poor powerplay.
Richardson has no clue how to coach.
KD should have drafted Demidov and Eiserman, so he sucks.
I know I’m missing allot ….

Paul is on a Mediterranean cruise. He's such a dedicated Hockey Buzzer. He rather contribute here than help his wife fend off pickpockets.

Ah, so I can just pick up where I left off. Solid. Looks like they lost to two superior teams over the weekend. Tonight likely more of the same. Hopefully, they can start to regain some structure.
At this point I am just going hope to see progression of the team overall. I can't get caught up in the individual accomplishments or lackthereof. There is simply going to be too much inconsistency this year to follow I think. |

Haven't seen anything about Martinez coming back yet,but the D seemed more stable with him, even though it was a small sample.
Could be a shootout tonight against Col. 5-4 or 6-5 game.
Not sure what Brodie is doing that Korch can't do. Still think it is dumb for him to be down in the AHL. |
