anything can happen

just now a person who won zero delegates for the dems, and has a 50 percent chance to win the election, is telling us iz cheney is a hero

the same cheney that trashed her

side note if trump wanted any harm to happen to liz, he would have told her to go hunting with her dad

1st Picks in Eichel and Reinhardt were in 2022.
Risto 2021.

So in 2022 Ostlund at 13 and Kulich at 28, 1 has played 2 seasons in the A and now finding his way in the NHL, while the other is in his 1st year in the A adjusting to the NA Game. Ohgren, his linemate and picked at 19 the same year has played 7 games this season and contributed 0/0/0 so far...really helping The Wild...should have stayed down for another year.

2021 is Rosen, up in the air for me as far as his NHL future...I would have expected to graduate this season...maybe later in the year.

Once again, expectations are a bit high IMO.

- IonSabres

If a 1st doesn't show anything in D+3, their odds of ever being an impact player drop significantly. I'd say this is my expectations of these players continuing to drop, with plenty of evidence to support it. I don't believe this org has a hidden ability to identify and develop late bloomers.

How can you assess if a player drafted is a hit, while simultaneously arguing drafted players need more time.

If they need more time, why would a GM execute a 5 year plan focused on drafting?

- washedup20

You are failing to break the issue into 2 parts:
1) Draft Quality
2) Roster Build Strategy

The issue isn't 1.
2 is the issue, and I have never agreed with it.

All this dancing around demanding delivery timeline of players to the NHL faster than historical evidence.

Are you suggesting a team should routinely and significantly out perform years of evidence?
Sounds crazy to me.

I'd rather argue their proclaimed strategy is incorrect, and the failure to date was rather predictable.

there was a spot for him in the fall when zucker moves on

there was a spot for him in the following fall when tuch walks

hell there is a spot for him tonight, if he wanted to earn it

if he wanted to play in the nhl, come over and earn it

For the most part, their timeline is right on.
Are you suggesting they should hit on every single pick?
Sounds crazy to me.
Guys are kids at 17 and 18. It isn't the NFL picking guys at 22 and 23

Still don't really know how he's going to transition to the NA game and jumping straight to the NHL is a tall task for anyone. There's some inherent risk is all I mean. Don't want to waste contracts.
- QuinnFan

He'll be 23 when he comes over. Ar that point he has mostly developed.
His challenge will be adjusting to the NA game and will take time.
It hurts that he re-signed for 2 years for sure

there is no reason to click on the video

he could have come over this summer, decided to stay there 2 more years

hell he could have tried to get out of his deal and come over this summer, and did not

so many prospect we have drafted over the years did not sign and right now it's 50/50 he does and you guys say forwards peak at 23 and he will be a 24 year old rookie if he signs here to play in 27-28

I can't get excited for 2027-28 right now

Yeah, I just worry he won't sign here unless he's guaranteed NHL time. If he comes over, and he's not ready, are you okay giving him a roster spot anyways? That's the difficulty. He was going to need another year or two here no matter where he played.

It's not a time line for the Sabres, it's there plan. Build through the Draft. If the plan is to wait these prospects out, than will be here at the same point for another 5 years.

I certainley did not say this.

And if you don't wanna be informed be my guest, why post about something you refuse to to do research on? Its a 2 minute video though, and clearly you have nothing better to do

I don't see anyone getting excited about 27-28.

Well,
To far away to predict. See how he grows his game over the next 3 seasons there.
If he develops and refuses to sign here ... Trade bait.

Agreed.
Strategy is incorrect to rely solely on Draft.
Can't speed up development significantly across the board.

I'm probably the biggest culprit of saying 23 for forwards. It's based on this:

I want to see these picks develop and hit, I have a problem with the Sabres plan. Basically the only reason why I say they need to speed it up.
