I guess it depends who you ask, but from my perspective you fielded the same team as last year pretty much.

Pretty telling how they went all last year with that left side being so weak. So much so they brought in 2 new LW for the top 6. Obviously Duclair got hurt, but is Holmstrom really the best option for 1LW? I’d also add Martin and Engvall to that. We all thought the team turned the corner. I guess not

Meaning finally letting go of Martin and Clutterbuck, throwing Engvall in bport, and taking Wahlstrom out of the top 6. To me at least it looked like they were making strides towards change.

Well like Cpt said, and I agree, something isn’t right. He clearly threw Lou under the bus imo

Edit : Roy says they speak every day and Lou has the upstairs decisions while Roy has the bench decisions. They aren’t happy with the 11th and 12th spots which is 4th line. Wahlstrom has no spot on this team.

For me there’s only one thing for this team to do and there’s no way around it. Until they do that it’s all just wasting time and assets making the inevitable harder.

Roy had a temper as a player and then as a coach. He’s hot headed. I’m sure cooler heads prevailed and he’s playing damage control. He literally said “Lou thinks”. I’m not gonna try and dissect this, but to me, Roy showed his hand and slipped up a bit.

Like I said earlier there’s something there. He can try and gloss it over and blame people for misinterpreting his words. They were still his words and barring some mental handicap and not realizing how his words may look to the public he was well aware of what he was saying and how it would be read.

Lou and Patrick pretty much need each other. Lou cannot replace another coach, and Patrick cannot have another Avs situation.

Same situation, basically. They kicked Tallon upstairs after Isles beat them and reshaped Gallant’s team. He wasn’t down with it and it escalated early in season as a couple of guys he wanted up from AHL were shipped out, and others forced upon him.

Worked for you guys.
