Oh Nashville, get your poop together soon or you are done.
Maybe they simply added too many new pieces.

I never understood the hype. They added a pair of 1-dimensional aging scorers and left their aging and picked-apart blueline to die. They lost their identity to spend big on a couple of fancy toys.

It's sending a strong message to Tavares that he should re-sign in Toronto: $3.5M X 3 years.

Vaccines have been around long before the republicans came out as nazi sympathizers.
There a reason smallpox was eradicated or you dont see too much of Polio or hib anymore. It was the right that politicized them.

Interesting radio hit this morning on Trotz

He basically said if the team doesn't figure it out in the next while he will start a plan to move out some vets and bring in young guys, loosely through around the "rebuild" word. Said his moves were "fantasy hockey" to extend the window and if it doesn't come together he will make changes.

ROR has no trade protection...would love to have him back.

edit: I am reading back and have seen this was mentioned

I mean if you want to be able to afford a mansion that you can stack on top of your current mansion? Nashville's got the money, honey.

Definitely not at 4.5 AAV. Might consider it if he costs 3 or less though.

Prefer Sissons at his price and age.

Schenn would be okay too.

Let's throw some math at it:

They are currently playing at a .375 pace.

They are currently on track to finish with 62 points.

In order to finish with 95 points (that's what it took two years ago for a wildcard - last year was 98), they have to play at a .614 pace - or the equivalent of a 101 point season.

Last year, they finished with 99 points.

It's doable, but they need to go on a heater, and they need to do it soon.

We won't agree here lol. Sissions is awful in my mind at his cap hit, so is Schenn.

If anything ROR is underpaid based on his production the past 100 games. Cap is going up.

Saw a stat on quality starts this season for goalies. Stolarz is number 1 with 9 and Saros is 2 or 3 with 7 or 8(can't remember)

The team has been very bad.

I would be willing to bet Tre offered him 5M for the same term.

He chose no taxes and no spotlight.

But he also has zero trade protection. With the number of old players on that team he had to have known that he would probably get dealt close to the end of that contract.

I would love having him back. My number 1 target if it keeps going south for them.

You are overreacting, he also waived his NTC to come here so get out of here with the "couldnt get out of toronto fast enough"

He quite clearly chose NSH for the no spotlight but he also opted for more money and zero trade protection. If he didn't want to play here he would have negotiated some sort of no trade clause.

The Leafs need a shutdown center, not another top-six center. Cap isn't going up this year so unless they retain salary on ROR or take Kampf (probably won't) he wouldn't fit.

1. They could find a home for Kampf, he is not an unmovable contract lol

2. Once they are healthy and make their roster moves they will have around 1M in cap space to accrue each day, which is significant.

Nashville is missing McDonagh's steady, minute-munching presence on the blueline. He ate up a lot of tough assignments and allowed Josi some freedom - exactly the luxury that Hedman is now getting. Look at Josi's stats - he's playing more icetime than ever before and a lot less to show for it.

Tampa is missing Stamkos' offense, which has not translated well to Nashville's style and roster. Guentzel has been good, but not a game-breaker. Point is injured, so instead of having Stamkos (and his shortcomings) as 1C, they have Cirelli. Not great.

The future doesn't look especially bright for either of those teams.

As a regular fantasy hockey Josi owner I can tell you this is what happens every year for him. Always a slow starter, and always picks his play up to elite level status.

I have him again, and expect no different.

Absolutely get rid of Kampf. But he does have a limited NTC. It's not impossible but not easy either.

Nashville would still have to retain some salary.

And Schenn would still be a great pick-up. He played great in the playoffs 2 years ago and the Leafs still need a good RHD, especially after dumping Liljegren and getting basically nothing useful in return.
