How long do we have to wait before officially declaring Pacioretty a bust?
- Atomic Wedgie

I like the way he throws his body around. For his AAV, he's useful.

I would be willing to bet Tre offered him 5M for the same term.

He chose no taxes and no spotlight.

But he also has zero trade protection. With the number of old players on that team he had to have known that he would probably get dealt close to the end of that contract.

I would love having him back. My number 1 target if it keeps going south for them.

- Santo_44

From what I recall, I dont think it got that far where numbers were offered.

His brother lives in nashville and as mentioned above he wanted to be out of the spotlight.
I doubt he returns to Toronto in any trade, but we'll see.
JT + for ROR? I dont see Tre moving a 1st for him....and I dont see Nashville taking JT either.

I can't tell what he actually thinks obviously, I don't know him.

But given the information we have and thats contract details, he did not negotiate any trade protection. Not even the classic 7 team no trade for Canadian teams.

Where he plays is clearly not a priority for him, at least long term. He will have received 60 % of his contract earnings at the end of the year which will cover any tax loss from a trade out of his tax heaven.

And I did the math on puck pedia. As of today with the LTIR group on the roster and removing a few league min guys as well as trading Kampf he fits on the 23 man roster.

But like I said once the leafs are healthy it is looking like they will have around 1M in cap space to accrue...in other words cap won't be much of an issue as it has in previous years.

You are overreacting, he also waived his NTC to come here so get out of here with the "couldnt get out of toronto fast enough"

He quite clearly chose NSH for the no spotlight but he also opted for more money and zero trade protection. If he didn't want to play here he would have negotiated some sort of no trade clause.

Yeah, he's a shell of what he used to be but for the price, doesn't look like a bad investment so far.

Until he breaks apart again.

It's been a rough few seasons for him. I wish him the best moving forward but it's more likely than not he'll get injured at some point.

Some people prefer lower taxes, lower interest rates and rent costs, lower fuel costs, lower food costs, a secure border and they don’t appreciate governments laundering billions through wars, or the importation of political strife, etc.

Instead of climatology, forced vaccinations and lockdowns, abortions, transgenderism and racism.

Some people have been saying the same dumb crap for a decade. MK Ultra. The truth has become a conspiracy theory. Get yourselves prepared for a reckoning. Most of you will be here when the time comes to choose.

Good, so that means you'll be happy now? How long until prices come down and things become "great" again. I'll be waiting. Let's see. The right is in full control of the presidency, supreme court, the house and the senate. They now literally control everything.

So, I expect within a few months after the inauguration the prices of gas, food, insurance, and healthcare will come down by a noticeable level. Everyone is watching and waiting. No excuses. No dems to blame standing in the way. Fewer guardrails. Let's get nuts. I can't wait for my dollar to have more buying power. I also can't wait to see the Epstein files released in full and his client list rounded up.

Time for tough talk is over. Let's see tangible results.

And, Stolie the Goalie is now the #1.
