I didn't see any of it either. He played 2 games, they won them both - low event stuff, no plus or minus and 3 shots. That's about it. Dewar played one and they won it - where he had a goal and an assist.
I guess we get to see how he fares in the NHL at doing the important stuff importantly in important situations.
I did see that he practiced with the Leafs today and is just awaiting final clearance to play - but has joined the team. - Monkeypunk
Iām really curious to see who comes out. I sure hope thereās a way to keep Timmins in. |

That's how I feel, too. It feels like Timmins has finally earned it - and he should stay him. I saw this proposed:
Rielly - Hakanpaa
McCabe - Tanev
OEL - Timmins
I'm not sure I'm averse to that proposal at all. I think it bears to be seen how well Rielly - Hakanpaa can play together and of course is OEL compliments Timmins better than Benoit. |

Rielly has looked less shiite with OEL.
So I will suggest:
Rielly, OEL
McCabe, Tanev
Beniot, Hakanpaa
Benoit and Timmins are kind of wash when it comes to talent so keeping LD/RD for that pairing is probably a smart move.
If you don't want Rielly sucking again you should keep him with OEL.

How would that help?
Genuine question... - joel878
You can't accrue cap space when you're working in LTIR.
It's a little convoluted but if your team, including injured guys, is under the cap then teams generally leave the guy on I.R. rather than LTIR. If the team, plus the injured guys, takes you over the cap then you need LTIR.
If the Leafs think that they'll be an LTIR team all year then they'll leave Krok there and remain limited to working within that limit.
But if they (for example) dump Benning and Myers and add Hakanpaa they'd be under the Cap (not by much) and they'd start accruing some cap space. |

All I want for my birthday tomorrow is a Leafs hat trick and victory.
I want Knies to explode for three goals, an assist, and a fight. It'll be a new thing called a "Knies Trick".

Wonder who is going to snag Malkin at the TDL.
He must have changed his mind about staying a Pen by now. |

Pfft. I've come to realize that if the Jays sign Soto he'll go from an OPS+ of 178 to 75 and we'll have that guy in our lineup until 2035. He'll be so bad we'll think Varsho is a good hitter.

Thanks for the explanation. - joel878
By the way, if you'd like a more detailed - but very well done - explanation of how cap accrual works, I think this is an excellent article:
https://hockeycurious.sub...-cap-space-actually-works
Let's say by Saturday Hakanpaa and Dewar are both activated and they decide to keep Pacioretty on the IR and remove Jarnkrok from the LTIR list but leave him on IR and we'll presume that Myers and - for the sake of argument - Holmberg are waived.
This would leave the Leafs with 12 active forwards, 7 active D and 2 goalies - but $1.082m in capspace. Saturday is day 39 of the season - and the trade deadline is day 151. By the trade deadline that $1.082m translates to $5.06m.
To put some perspective on that increase over time variation - if you swapped Robertson for Holmberg, the $75k in salary difference changes the space available at the trade deadline to $5.42m |

They are always serious contenders......to help drive the price up for the player to sign with another team.
Until I see them in a Blue Jays jersey, Im not gonna worry about it |
