He and his agent played the Dodgers for the extra bump on the salary (because originally I think the Dodgers were at $550m, and the Jays were at $600 or $620, I don't remember) - with the plane trick. Suddenly the Dodgers made a "last minute" bid to go from $550m to $700m.

I recall hearing someone say that he was going to go the the Dodgers even if it had been $450m over 10 years.

they cant and wont fix every issue all at once in the off season, but they can vastly improve, and fill holes through the season.
