Look up what $2.25m retention cost. Its 2nd-3rd. For the leafs with Montreal, it will be a 2nd.
Dont need SJ to retain anything, simply get a pick off them.

- Fakepartofme

Lol ok Habs can trade him to another team at his 4.25M cap hit.

Maybe they can get a 7th!

You seem to be having a tough time evaluating players based upon their contributions to the team, measured up against their cap hit.

Reaves makes no contributions.

- Atomic Wedgie

You seem to regularly have a tough time not being a douchenozzle.

Again, if the bar is set at league average, not very tough to make your own goalposts for what is considered a bargain cap hit isn't it Einstein.

In a league where some make over 13 million, many make less than 1 million, you're getting a steal if you can come in lower than 3.5 because that's how averages work.

If Kampfs next deal is 3.4, steal. Can't believe Liljegren didn't work, absolutely bargain cap hit under league average. Averages.

Oh my, such a clever joke. You've really eclipsed grade six with this, I can't believe you came up with it all by yourself.

Oh wait, you didn't. You have to run with someone else's poopty burns because that's your ceiling. πŸ‘

Honestly Bobby Mc is fine. I think really its Kampf, Holmberg, Robertson etc we need more out of. Steeves maybe should get a better look. Not sure it aint time to move on from Jarnkrok too.

That said who do you get? Would not have minded snagging Sprong for 4C. Donato with Hawks is a cheap pretty quick fiesty type that did well in bottom for Seattle. Dunno if you could get Gourde from Kraken, he'd have to waive his clause too.

Need to find a good 3C and then the pieces all slot in better.

Domi's warts get hidden and he plays his best in one spot - 34's wing. Gotta put him back there. Bump Knies down to help another line.

Putting Robbie in the top 6 for a handful of games makes a tonne of sense b/c he needs the chance and if it works you've helped increase his value leading up to the deadline.

Domi-Matt-Marner
Rob-JT-Nylander
Knies-Holm-McMann
Lorent-Kampf-Dewar/Reaves

When Patches is back and Robbies put up some numbers you have Patches slotted in for that spot and you dangle Robbie and picks for a the best 3C you can find and punt Holmberg to the pressbox.

What are your expectations for a player that mostly plays the 3rd and cost $1.35 per?
Career wise he's averaged 0.36ppg. Last year he averaged 0.42ppg in 54 games and he's currently on pace for 19 goals. Even if he finishes with 15 goals and 25pts that's still pretty decent for 28 year old center/winger, no?

Winnipeg is the hottest team in the league right now and their threads are dead.

You'd think at least a handful of their three dozen fans would be active.

Edit : Winnipeg's only two losses this year were against my Blue and White teams.

Blue Jays front office executive: "The #BlueJays are a lot more in on Juan Soto than most believe. People would be β€œshocked” when them find out how much the Jays want Soto".

I am sure the Jay would like it, but this is just posturing and leverage to get more $$

Well, no, people would not be shocked.

30 teams want him.

We'll be shocked if Soto has any genuine interest in the Jays.

Forgive my pessimism, but I believe that Toronto is the Columbus of MLB.

For whatever reason, players don't see it as a great place to play.

i dont see it like that at all.

There are other teams who are def more attractive, but the Jays get decent players to sign.
Soto level? maybe really the only close one was Clemens in 1997
