Leafs cant afford to overpay knies. Nothing over 5.5 per.
- Fakepartofme

perhaps on a 3 year deal.
I'd rather see the Leafs lock him long term.

I think that Knies will get more than $5.5 even on a bridge deal. Leafs coughed up $3.75M for Domi. Knies is a much more important player on this team. My guess is $6.75 to 7.25M on a long term deal. Probably about $6 on a bridge deal (4 years or less).

Domi was overpaid.
But 6m x 4 i could live with

I’d bet Domi would seem a lot more worth his $ if he wasn’t constantly expected to play C

I know he’s supposed to be both but he’s a better winger all the way

I don’t know if Knies wants an eight year deal.

Better to go shorter, and wait for the cap to keep rising.

The “bet on yourself” contract.

- Atomic Wedgie

The more the cap rises the more he'll ask for.... Now is the best time for a long term deal. Especially when it comes to the first "power foward" we've had in ages.

I liked the Domi and Matthews duo and it should be revisited when the Mustache is back in the lineup. I agree that having Domi as a top-six center is not ideal, but he seemed to have good chemistry playing wingman with Matthews.

Reaver out five games is a gift from the league. Take full advantage of it and give that icetime (and maybe more) to someone younger and better.

My picks for tonight. Call your bookie. My record this season is 33 - 19 (.634%)

CAR - STL : STL (Sorry Bingo!)
WSH - VGK : WSH
NYR - SEA : NYR
NAS - VAN : VAN

I think Carolina is a trap. Nashville is in a funk. And the Rangers game is damn near a toss up because Seattle temporarily has things dialed in, but it's Breadman and crew, so...Washington and Vegas is almost a toss up as well.

That feels like the right number to me. I don't think he had malicious intent but he missed the body and his shoulder plows right through the head.

Yup. He made a play for the puck, unfortunately he caught him directly in the head. Not a malicious hit at all, but suspension worthy.

No way he made a play for the puck. Even he knows he wouldn’t know what to do with it if he got it.

clean hit, poopty outcome for the guy whose visor was meant to protect him but slammed into his face. if the NHL has an issue, eliminate body checks, but don't punish guys who are physically large doing what's legal. and don't dismiss guys nonchalantly skating about unaware of their surroundings when you're allowing physical contact.

wait what? missed the body?...hang on let's not be silly now. It's a split second sport and if youre dangling about unfocused what's going around you and you're not paying attention how is it the checkers fault? should he pause and ask another tall player to skate upright and be aware before he throws a check? let's not be silly now

Yawn.
No reason to overpay.
He looks like he has a lot of potential, but we cant get back into paying too much.
We already have some contracts that will not age well in 2 years time.

Over pay now save later. wish we did that with the core 4. with a rising cap players will want more share of it the longer you wait. it's no longer about dollars these days but percentage of the cap.
