It would be great if Dozzer could ask Ek if he has any plans to hire a new Leafs blogger.
If there are no plans, would your plan work? I'd be happy to have AI write a blog every 2-3 days - you think Ek would put it on the main page? - Atomic Wedgie
Before they gave me a blogger's account (which took a while) there was a possibility to write a blog and send it to either Eric or Bill when they were in charge and they would post it under the "guest blogger" account.
Don't know if Eklund would be open to that, it's worth a try.
Either that or send it to Adam French and he posts it? |

does he have trade protection? I know he wasnt a fan of the Toronto craziness. so yeah..its very unlikley - senstroll
Sorry, it must have been someone else.
He has absolutely no trade protection.

Yes, and their goalie just signed for 8 years X $8.25M, and he currently has a .884 SV% and a 3.47 GAA. - Atomic Wedgie
I have more faith in Swayman than I do in Lindholm. With Swayman he held out, got into a fight with the Bruins - some nasty things were said and that crap gets in a player's head. Finally he got more than they wanted to give him and all of a sudden the weight of the world is on your shoulders to perform. One bad goal, two bad goals - and it's a scramble. I think it's what happened to Samsonov last year. He's not kicking down chairs and knocking down tables, but at basically an average performance he's been marginally better than Hill so far this year; last year he was among the worst goalies in the league (of goalies with > 30 starts, he was 39th out of 45 in GSAx).
I'd believe Swayman can rebound - but Lindholm will never anything more than a passenger on the first line.

I sent Eric a message and he did take the time to tell me that he no longer works here and to e-mail Ek directly - which I did. I heard nothing in response.
Hopefully he's looking somewhere because it's a small but dedicated community.

You keep pushing this RoR narrative, and although there is 0.00% chance of it happening, damn, wouldn't it be good?
We could have 3 legit scoring lines, and play our 4th line 5 minutes a game. - Atomic Wedgie
I can't recall if it's Santo, but there are a few who are definitely in on ROR and a few who believe that the things he said on the way out were unfavourable.
I do recall him talking about the fishbowl in Toronto - but I believe it was the media amplifying his words to make them sound worse. I don't think it would happen just based on term, AAV and our inability to supply Nashville with something enticing enough to make the deal happen, but I don't necessarily think ROR, at his age, wants to play in market that's going to embrace a rebuild.

The funny thing is, I've now (sadly) decided to become a season ticket holder.
$20 a year and I never have to see another of these franking ads again? Worth it.
But I'm not going to pull the trigger until I see signs that this site isn't going down the pooper. |

Yeah Eric was pretty much handling... well everything. Then Bill took over but figured it was too much with all his other stuff and quit.
For the first time since this site has been created, Ek needs to handle thing on his own... it's a pretty big sink or swim moment in my book. |

Well I have adblock on my phone as well, but yeah, my girlfriend wanted to read one of my blogs on her phone and it was a complete mess, she barely could access the blog itself.
It's really, really bad. |

My wife has been encouraging me for years to write a blog - and I'm pretty positive it's because she's tired of me talking about stuff she couldn't care less about. She'd open a blog I wrote just to look at the ads.

1: I think you would be a fantastic blogger, been saying it for years.
2: Ever since I started writing the Habs blog, my girlfriend was so happy I was finally "working" on something I'm actually passionate about that I now have free reign to stop helping with chores and with the kids so I can watch the whole hockey game and write a blog about it.
I should have done this years ago.

saw someone mention Marchand. he is a UFA. would the BB move him?
my top target right now would be RoR. again
Marchand would be something, what a heel turn in reverse that would be.
I know the leafs dont have the assets, but adding RoR and BM for a playoff would be
if this team cant make a run with 2 players added like that...fold the team - senstroll
Honestly, i dont think we need more players over 35.
If it was ROR and Marchant from 2 -3 years ago, sure.
But then again, couldn't make us worse i suppose. |

Outside of that one season, he's barely Mickael Backlund 2.0 - AdamFrench
Nah. He had a run of 5 straight seasons with CGY where he was ostensibly a PPG player with top tier defensive play.
His last year in CGY the offensive wheels started to fall off - Huberdeau's precipitous decline clearly didn't help matters.
Frankly, I do think his offensive numbers during those peak years were likely propped up by Gaudreau (RIP) and Tkachuk, but he is still a viable 2C at this point in his career.
The Broons thought they were getting a Bergeron replacement. He's not that and won't be that going forward. |

I might be alone in this thought, but JT is great as a 2nd line C. No chance I'd replace him with lindholm. - systemtool
I would replace him with Lindholm in a heartbeat at 2C.
Lindholm is an elite defensive C and can keep up with talented wingers if given the chance. And before you say "But Boston" - they're a dumpster fire right now. Marchand has declined considerably and even Pasta is looking weak at this point. Is that because Lindholm is dragging them or because the entire team has collapsed? I think the latter.
I love Snake, but he is a liability defensively and should be shifted to the wing. |
