Looks like other teams will have the right chips to make a Petterson/Miller trade.
Reichel's value is near 0 if you ask me. Probably still not a good time to trade Nazar yet. He hasn't had enough time to show if he has the goods to play as a 2nd line C/W

- captainserious

I think Reichel has a lot of value. My thoughts of him are he needs a supporting cast to really shine. He was paired with 2 fourth line slow forwards but one of them has a nice shot and Reichel has been able to generate points by getting him some great looks with some pretty passes. Funny how Smith gets hurt and all of a sudden the points dry up. Reichel is not a line generator like Bedard and that's why i laugh when people say Bedard isn't a generational talent, playing with a bunch of misfit hockey players and he's still producing a point per game.

Nazar is going to be a fun hockey player to watch, he's another kid who's really good at setting team mates up and nada for now. Like Teuvo, just a tremendously tremendous play by Nazar last night on the PK.

What's exciting to me is there's more that will be coming up, kids with hands can buzz around on the ice who like to compete.

Last night's game has to be a nice thing to see for both those who don't dig the tear down and those who do.

Power's ran a piece today talking about how Nazar and Bedard showed a glimpse of the future as more prospects are coming. I think many of us were thinking the same thing as we saw both those kids score, be dangerous and show some kinda 2 way game. ... And Bamford posted the fancies and both kids were at a 55ish percent corsi vs a squad that's core won a cup.

But not mentioned is Dach who's down to one knee one timer was the shot that created the rebound for Nazar to score. A low shot board side is difficult at best to control a rebound. The proverbial pass off the left catching goalies right pad.

And, there was a rookie Dman on each paring the win was vs a high powered squad that was on an 8-2 run with 3 guys in the top 10 in NHL scoring.

No, they wouldn't have won without Mrazek playing great hockey but he did and the Hawks won with much of the future on the ice.

I think Reichel will eventually turn into an NHL player, but probably not in Chicago.

Hopefully Reichel is given a chance to play on one of the top lines and give him power play time too. It’s in the Hawks’ best interest to give Reichel every opportunity to succeed or show he isn’t able to.

Yo Chunk, no love for Crevier at all? Didn't dig the big kid fronting, neutralizing, then taking the puck away from Rantanen off the rush????? Not worthy of a mention, Chunk?......... Now The Athletic is starting to talk about the kid. Maybe they've been reading HB the last few weeks?

Kid is making it hard for you to not be encouraged to some degree. .... And, did I miss you diggin his drive into the Ozone, beat +skating 1st pairing big man Paryako wide, lower his shoulder and get a shot off in the crease????

You're not dug in on your evaluation of him say, last yr, are you? .... Kid is showing the chances of him becoming an NHLer are better everyday. Kinda kid who is very very appealing to an NHL club that would insist on him being part of a bigger deal.

And, as far as Levshunov he's been a low heart rate looking kid since he was with USHL Green Bay then a MI St and now at RKF. That won't change and neither will his plus skating, size and hands. ......... He's on track IMO, to be an NHLer, good chance a difference maker, after at least 2 yrs down on the farm.

I don’t understand some posters positions. Nazar needed to be sent down to work on his game he needed to earn a spot on the NHL roster.

Now we are advocating for Reichel to get top line minutes and PP time, despite not earning any of it? Hawks did that with Kurashev last year and it did nothing but inflate his numbers. Didn’t prove other than you can rack up points when Bedard is getting all the attention.

Reichel hasn’t shown anything except he’s soft on the puck, doesn’t know what to do without the puck, and doesn’t give max effort every shift, even though he needs to prove he belongs on an NHL roster.

When I was posting some negative things about Lesh the other day. It did seem like he was lazy. Maybe that was just some slow processing speed bc he’s still adjusting and his smooth effortless skating.

Not a hockey expert so it’s hard for me to tell.

Oh no, IMO Artie processes well. He's just a low heart rate kinda player and those kinds look uninterested or lazy. I posted that in the Hogs' game 1 cuz I saw the kid play USHL and Mi St.

Folks have to remember just 2 yrs ago he was in the USHL and before that he was playing in a weakish jrs league in Belarus. Add big players generally speaking develop slower....... As a comparable Vlasic played 2 yrs USHL, 3 yrs NCAA and then needed a yr in the AHL. Artie has climbed the ladder at warp speed and sooner or later those big jumps he took he was gonna plateau and that looks to be the AHL.

Lotta work to do on his foundation, preferably at LEAST 2 yrs in RKF. You saw the holes in his game if you only saw RKF play 1 time but he has the tools to be a monster maybe even in the Doughty mold.

Watched him play a few times at Mich St too. I loved the pick. You’re probably 100% right about low hear rate type. Perhaps it is also bc it’s AHL. Guys are skating around hair on fire and then you have Lesh. He looks like the only one not doing that.

It also helps to keep in perspective this is his 4th league jump in 4 years. He also missed training camp with the foot injury. Just 3 years ago he was playing for his home country's U18 team.

From the things I have read, he starts off slow and then makes a leap in the back half of the season.

If Crevier can put it together. Vlasic and Lesh and likely Rinzel…. That’s a big backend that can skate. That gets me excited for the next 8-10 years.

He's been good. He's learning to use his size and that's a good thing. Considering all of the kids they have in the system, I think he tops out at 3rd line, but I think in the end, he'll end up one of those big guys that you think should be better than he is.

The good news is that he takes up a decent amount of space and has learned to use that to get in the way of a lot of offense. I don't like that he tends to look around with that "where am I supposed to be?" look on his face too often. Maybe the game slows down enough for him to be something more, but to me, it seems people are convincing themselves they like him more than they actually like him. I question a bit how much of his play is due to being paired with Vlasic.

I'm really trying to give him kudos, but something keeps holding me back. Until we have more info, feel free to chalk it up to my own bias.

What I like about Kaiser is he’s a warrior. One of the few guys who plays bigger than he is. A guy like that usually works hard to correct his weaknesses. Too bad Jones doesn’t watch him to see how to compete hard.

That is just confidence. He has the abilities to push the pace. They have been encouraging him to add that to his game.

I believe it will come. May not be this season but some more experience and he will pick his spots.

At this point, I think the only thing that would get Jones to really sweat would be if they gave someone else his minutes on the top PP. It's a shame that KK wasn't ready for that last year when he got a quick audition. If he was mildly competent, I think he'd still have it. That would certainly "raise all boats".

I really hope so. I like most of his game. You can just see when he carries the puck, he has that hesitation and doesn't have the confidence to do it himself. His defensive coverage is probably the best on the team.

Somebody mentioned Cooper in a post. He would be perfect for Reichel, Bedard and this team. Danny should go buy him. 5 x $10M.
