Nashville loses again last night, shut out at Calgary 2-0.

As a team they have one less goal for the season in one more game played than the Hawks.

Two of the top UFAs from last summer, Marchessault and Stamkos, who many here wanted the Hawks to sign (disclaimer, I was in on Stamkos), have contributed very little. Does it just takes time for new players to gel on a team, or were they a product of the skilled teams they played for previously? There is still time for them to turn it around, but it goes to show you that signing free agents to a big contract could be a hit or miss.

KD said he is not going to yo yo Nazer up and down. When they decide to bring him up, it is for the I yention he will be up permanently.

That seems like a silly contrast to development is not linear.

I was hoping the Hawks might take a run at Marchessault, but misery loves company and I'm pleased as punch that the Pred's are struggling. They've replaced the Wings and Blues to a degree at the top of the no likey list for me.

Now they are both old and bad, kind of like us I suppose but I'm not sure how much helps on the way.

Stamkos I think was a big beneficiary of a very good power play and a good team. He was definitely slowing down last year.

Marchessault shooting at a very low percentage and the rest of his underlying numbers are not that great but not absolutely terrible.

Forsberg not at his normal pace.

Across the board it's an old team. O'Reilly has a lot of miles, Josi has a lot of miles and is 34 now. Nyquist is having a dreadful year.

Underlying numbers aren't terrible and when you look at PDO you'd think a lot has to do with luck. Once pucks start going in they will probably even out. Just about everyone on the roster even the leftovers from last year are having a rough go.

They should probably be more like 500ish at this point and if theyre not about there at the New Year I'd expect Brunette to be out the door. And then trades to follow.

Is it though? Hasn't a big part of the argument been they need to be in a "winning culture" not constantly losing?

If the young guys can't beat AHL journeyman, how are they going to beat NHL journeymen when they come up? Most here, but not me for sure, are talking playoffs in two years.

I was saying two years to make the playoffs...last year
So I didn't think they had any chance to make the playoffs this year, but I figured next year they could make it as a wild card team.
If KD and LR keep up this pathetic pace, there is no way in hell they make the playoffs next year.

Hope people stop going to the games and I hope nobody pays for their stupid app.

I wish fans would give the finger to the bears and blackhawks and stop going to games and buying their sh!tty merchandise

I was on the Marchessault/Mittlestadt/and anyone of competence train as well.
Still think adding Marchessault would have been a good move. Even if he doesn't work out in Nashville,at least they took a swing at someone

You could argue that MacKinnon (if not Makar at this point) is the best player in the league.

He's been up there with Kucherov and McDavid the last 4-5 seasons.
Funny how McDavid was the can't miss generational talent, above everyone else, but he's they guy out of the 3 without a Cup.

Hall isn't much of a loss, but it will be interesting to see who can eat up all of those minutes that Jones takes care of. I think that this has been Jones's best year as a Hawk, looks like a $6M defenseman out there.

No forward currently except Bedard would be much of a loss.

I'd guess Phillips again (until they can find a trade partner for him).

He won’t play much, let’s the kids get the big minutes at Rockford.

I don't get taking Hall out. Kurashev is an active road cone at this point.

If Kurashev is a road cone, what exactly is Anderson. Or D1ckinson for that matter?

2 guys who never met a puck battle they can win.

At first I thought it was because they said he'd be taking maintenence days - playing/practicing a certain amount of days - but then I read LR's quote and realized it wasn't.

Starting to get the feeling that LR is over his head.

Bedard with Kurashev and Donato again.

Day drinking? Both of those guys are solid. Anderson is never going to produce much in the way of points, but gets to pucks and gets them out of the zone when needed. If you think that about Richardinson, I don't think I can help you.

What does Kurashev do well (or even better than those two)?
