LA you have a short memory didn't the Leafs trade a 1st and a 2nd for McCabe and Lafferty?
And D ickinson is a superior defender to Lafferty. - BetweenTheDots
I thought the Leafs included a first round pick because the Hawks took on Mrazek? |

That was a different trade, we drafted Rinzel with that pick.
That trade i believe we moved up like 15 spots |

Teams don’t pay 1st round draft choices for a defensive center that has hit double digits in goals once in his career. - LAHawk
Tanner Jeannot would like a word. |

I was just thinking how many years do we have to wait before the refs actually start calling penalties on the guys defending him? |

Is it me or are the Canucks targeting Reichel? Hope he makes them pay for it. He made some really nice plays in this game already

In previous years Reichel shied away when it was getting physical. As you say he’s been hit, and hit hard, a few times but to his credit he’s got right back in there. On that last hit he got up and went right to the net. |

That's 3 now. Hopefully he keeps his head up and makes them pay.
On another note, not a big fan when Bedard plays the Canucks he seems to try to do to much like that cute no look pass to Kaiser.

IDK at the moment, but if Bedard is going to be flashy, a blind back pass in the D-zone - right to a guy from Vancouver ... usually that earns you a seat for a little bit. Considering that they iced it immediately afterwords, he can hope the coach forgets about it ... but um, yeh - I would have been yelling anyone on my own team that did that crappola.
It ain't fancy, it's frigging dangerous for no frigging reason. |

Wait a minute, you mean that young players can improve certain parts of their game with experience, I’ll be darned. |

Another game the opponent brings a ton of pressure and they are able to sustain it in the first 7 minutes. |

The NHL does make one thing clear o
If you are a young player you get no calls. |

It was definitely a penalty. Soderblom with a nice game so far, and Reichel has been their most noticeable skater. |

Lucky the BOD weren’t able to get Reichel launched to the Andromeda Galaxy like they wanted. |

Now that Kubalik is out of the league, Kurashev is the dumbest forward in the league. |

And - at this point - I would be pretty close (if not there already) - if you can't win faceoffs- you got no business being a centre - there are actually wingers that can win faceoffs) ... I have won as many faceoffs tonight as Bedard has - and I haven't taken any... unfortunately he has |

I hope and would bet that Bedard takes his poor face off % to heart. He wants to be good at everything yet face off win is probably not on the top of his list to improve. Now I don’t know how he performed in the dot in his junior career; however, he must realize he is not too good at it. Maybe KD should bring Y Perreault back as face off coach? |

They were saying on HNIC that since Bedard's stick is a 70, and a longer stick than what he needs, he stands up taller than most other centers. The 70 being too weak to take draws properly.
He would need to get his hand closer to the blade of the stick to eliminate the whippiness of his stick |
