They were simply awful as a team and individually. Mzarek so carp the coach's too timid to question the clear bad call on Bedsy who simply hit the puck not the goaltender but the rules allow him to shoot in there.

I just watched Brantford take a 2-0 lead on Ottawa by way of two more Lardis goals.

There’s a rumour Edmonton may be interested in Jones, the names coming back are Matthew Savoie and Jeff Skinner. Skinner has a NMC so that may complicate things. No word if Chicago would retain part of Jone’s salary. So that’s four teams who are allegedly interested in Jones, Edmonton, Dallas, Florida and Los Angeles.

I’m watching the same game. Lardis’ skating, release and shot are NHL ready. His defensive game needs work and he needs to get stronger. I’m curious if his game translates to pro?

Just catchin up on like 15 pages of reading.

Going to be a long grind til the end of the season and the exciting part starts. Be good in a few years when hopefully the off season isn't the most exciting part, you know like the Bears.

Still comparing the rebuilds, funny how close they are, will the Hawks aim high and pay for a Primetime Coach???? Spend some money in FA on players that are good and difference makers, will the Bears in a few weeks?

They are at different timelines because of the sports themselves, but really interesting them both happening at the same time.

Skinner doesn't have any incentive at all to waive his clause for CHI. Don't think there is any incentive they can give him either. Stan may have to move him to a contender before they can swap.

Seems like there may have to be a 3-team trade to get Jones moved.

Slaggert and Donato can’t receive a pass from Bedard but that like continues to stay together.

Brodie and Martinez shouldn’t be in the line up together unless there are multiple injuries.

Watched a little bit of the Rochford-Chicago game. Saw Lev crosscheck this guy right in the face. I don't think that was his intention as he was surprised as anyone it happened. He got five, ten, and a game misconduct. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a suspension. The Hogs suck by the way. They are doing a great imitation of their parent club.

There’s really no reason to fret about this season. Everyone and their brother knows they won’t win. Like you I’d like to see the vets get spotted in and out of the lineup and let the kids play.

The whole team just looks like they’ve checked out. There’s no urgency to what they do, Bedard included. Doesn’t bode well for the rest of the year.

There is no reason to play four vets on defense. Ideally, KD at least makes some moves to open up spots and bring in some new blood. I also agree that they should just play the kids together more (Bedard/Nazar, Reichel/Slaggert, etc).

That’s just insane, they sit the kids but not the vets. Play the kids for crying out loud, they should be playing Vlasic, EDM, and Allan every game. By the way, Jones stated that he would go back to Columbus, so Jackets send Kent Johnson back and we call it a day.

You understand a lot of stuff.

Someone posted earlier not to hold our breaths for Rantanen or Marner. I don't think either is coming to Chicago either. At best, the Hocks will have go overlay to grab a Sam Bennett or Ehlers. Not saying they are bad players,each is fine,but not superstars.

I assume if they land a big star it will be via trade. Something along the lines how Florida landed Tkachuk and Carolina Rantanen.

I'm not even upset that they suck,just wish they'd set up Bedard and Nazar to at least see them try and get some more confidence and produce a bit more.

I’d be very happy with Benny as our 2C tbh. What would you be willing to trade to Carolina in picks for Rantanen if he guarantees he’d sign an extension at say $14 mil?

I see TT soft on the puck and putting in half effort when the puck is turned over and going back the other far too often... yet he is never benched.

Brodie and Martinez looking like turnstiles because they don't move their feet.

I watch Donato make a lot of bad decisions with the puck. I get it he tries hard and all but he never gets benched or demoted down a few lines for a lot of bad plays.

My uninformed speculation is that the coaching staff is being told by the front office to play the vets and try to win more games. Davidson made it clear the team was trying to win more games and he's gone down to the locker room twice (?) now and ripped into the team for losing and lack of effort.

In a rebuild but playing the vets as much as possible to win more games instead of playing the kids in all situations and giving the kids big minutes.

My theory on why Bedard with Donato and Maroon, or Kurashev with Bertuzzi and Nazar, or playing all the veteran Ds is that they would be showcasing anybody who is tradable. Only five more games before the deadline!
