I went thrpough every teams future watch prospects today and I simply didn't see kids polished enough that their Cup appearing teams were gonna trade for Jones.

This is quite the accomplishment. The draft suddenly isn't all about more goalie prospects after the first rounder.\and another 1st rounder in 2026 or 2027 ?

Kinda more than I expected.

I think about you saying the magic age for goalies is 24 years old. He's 23 now, so looking forward to seeing him play for the Blackhawks and i trust he's in good hands with Jimmy Waite.

Or just takes back a bad contract. He could send him to EDM for Jeff Skinner's or E. Kane's contract for example.
- Chunk

Why would Edmonton want him? He doesn’t improve their goaltending, and they definitely don’t want his cap hit next year.

I so hate that Maroon and Smith are on this team. The team struggles for shots and they pass up two prime opportunities.

I know it is pointless to complain about right now, but FFS just play simple hockey.

Kaiser had a nice 1st.

- Chunk

Like Smith not having his stick on ice there. Ya maroon could’ve shot that but his pass got through. It went right infront of smith who was 2 foot from the far post. Idk how he didn’t at least get a skate on it.

I watched the Minnesota Penn State game. Moore with a goal and two apples. Rinzel needs to shoot the puck. He had a lot of opportunities but kept passing the puck. He also needs to get a little meaner. Should probably stay in college another year. Moore was always at the front of the net. Lardis not being physical should not be a problem. Steve Larmer was far from heavy hitter. Watched Detroit/Columbus. Kane with a goal and DCat with two. Detroit should send us flowers. Kane is still a magician. Happy as hell to see the last of Jones.

He's going to crack when he sees Brodie on the ice.

Yep, would like them to keep Soderblom, however without a retention spot, I don’t see Mrazek being moved unless KD adds a sweetener. Next man up, Donato.
- Angotti

Involve a 3rd team to retain half of Mrazek's cap hit for a 2nd or 3rd rounder. The season is almost done, the team would be retaining for basically 1 season.

Plus the history of goaltenders being traded at the TDL ends almost always in disappointmen. Lehner, Fleury, Miller, Korpisolo

Does it reallly matter? They traded Jones and got a legit goalie prospect, a 1st in ’26 and afaic addition by subtraction in dealing Jones.

I was talking about trading Mrazek, but I know you just love jumping on anything I post.

There was already talk that we'd be maybe carrying three goalies, because of Brossoit coming back, but maybe he suffered another setback? I would think they have to move someone soon.
- breadbag

Nothing stops them from putting another goalie on IR if they have too.

So does Jones have to pay Illinois state tax on thar $2.6 mil?
- LAHawk

Can the 25% retainage or whatever it is, I see differing amounts on a $9.5M salary be bought out? Seems like I've seen that before?

I hope KD gets really bold in the summer and offer sheets one of Wyatt Johnson, JJ Peterka, Matthews Knies or Mason McTavish.

I would really like them to trade and get a young top 6 forward, but Id be okay if KD signed 2 more players of Bertuzzi and TTs ability, 2 more NHL caliber players who can score 40 to 60 points and play decent defensively.
- BetweenTheDots

Fast guys though if they are going to play a fast game. Without a couple all star caliber players I don't see the needle moving enough to make a difference.

Bertuzzi stay out a little too late last night?

Playing like he’s hungover.

Too bad AA has minimal hockey IQ.
