Interesting, that is one of 4 call ups allowed until the end of the season. Unless there was an injury? Martinez possibly?

OK, I have no idea what is actually going on. He now is off the roster on the website, but is listed on the AHL transaction page.

Actually, Arty would be their 3rd recall. They did the paper transactions for EDM and Dach at the deadline so they would be eligible for the AHL playoffs if they make it.

FYI - college players signing do not count against the recall numbers.

If he does come up, who’s his partner? I would pair him with either Vlasic or EDM. In my opinion Vlasic is being slotted incorrectly due to lack of puck carrying dmen on the NHL roster. If they would let Vlasic just focus on his defensive game, he could be a top five shutdown dman in the league, especially if he becomes more physical. Next year they’ll need Arty/KK to run the power play. Vlasic, Arty, and EDM should be part of the top six long term, with Allan, KK, Kaiser, Crevier, Rinzel, and other draft picks fighting for the other spots.

Totally agree. Ever since that trade was made though I think people felt we were trading Hammer in his prime but he had already begun to decline.

In reality and with the obvious benefit of hindsight Stan should’ve started gutting the team to retool/rebuild after the 2015 or 2016 season but I think that wouldn’t have gone over so well with most fans.

- HawkintheD

Hammer was not even close to the same player. He played a lot of hard minutes and it was beginning to show. FFS, I have a Hammer sweater along with a Seabs.

Murphy is the best RD currently on the roster, and if he keeps his play up next year they should re-sign him as the vet dman for another year or two.

Also, in case people are worried about being able to sign and burn a year on the college guys, as long as they are cap compliant, there is no roster limits after the trade deadline.

All KD has to do is move Weber to LTIR and they have the space.

A certain poster thinks I am not aware of the limits of Murph's game. He shows up every night. Gives whatever he has every shift. I root for those guys. He kills penalties. Plays the body. Blocks shots and will stick up for his mates.

Effort is never a question with Murph. Unless you are still so blinded for him being traded for Hammer.

2-6 in OT and 1-2 in shootouts.

That's 3-8 and bad.

- Chunk

Intentional. Regular OT’s are just exhibitions. Trying to secure their lottery position. (Red font)

Not surprised they called up Lev to give him a taste. He has worked hard and it will allow them to see him at the NHL level. He probably isn't really ready, but no harm in giving him some games to see how he looks with the big team.

I'll be at the game in San Jose. Glad that I'll get a chance to see Lev in person. I hope Faligno gets no more than 6 minutes of ice time. Should be fun comparing Celibrini and Bedard. I haven't heard Celibrini's name much recently, not sure if he's slumping or just playing average hockey right now.

Good for Lev, I’m interested to see his tenth game, assuming he’s up that long. I want to see how much and where he’s improving.

That’s better Totem. Just watched the Rangers get their butts kicked by Columbus, and realized that only one original six team is currently in the playoffs.

Are we going to have to see these type of posts until May 7th. Can’t we hold off at least until the season is over?

I like the idea of giving guys a taste of the NHL. I also would like to see Guttman get a few games.

Improvement is measured by season to season, not game to game. He could actually get worse trying to work on specific areas.

I also read somewhere if you play your RFA his signing year for 10 games when their ELC is up no teams can offer sheet them?

Common sense would dictate that neither San Jose or Chicago get the first pick. My money is on Nashville because they have taken a nosedive. Bettman wants them to remain competitive to keep that market viable.

Hey paul, off topic, but I just read Tab at Bleacher Nation suggest the Hawks go after Pasternak in a trade. Would you prefer him over Marner? Pasta is signed for six more seasons at $11.25M and turns 29 this May.

When I see a post that I’m not interested in, I just scroll on to the next post. Totem is one of the most informative posters here, if he wants to post tankathon results ten times a day, so be it, and I will follow with my own results. Now back to hockey.

Elbows suggested it on the other site and then read that this morning too in BN and I kind of like that vs signing Marner at the top of the market. Marner turns 28 in May so comparable.

You’d have to give up some assets but this is one possible player I think would be worth trading some of them for.
