Interesting to see. It honestly could be nearly anyone going down or I think it can be nobody since the roster size limit is off now. I guess maybe he is getting a reward for his strong play in the A.

One thing seems to be working out. Everyone that wanted Brodie to stop playing is getting their wish. Hawks are willing to play everyone ahead of him right now.

Something not too shocking today. Torts was fired this morning by Philly.

Edit: just to add, I think the Hawks played a part in this. I mean you give up 7 goals to the Hawks, that could get anyone fired.

I was just thinking about our dmen and was curious so, we had 5 dmen last night play a total of 343 games

Murphy 736 games.

The kids looked good over all. It's great they are all up and playing in the bigs. If we won the draft lottery and end up with Schaefer it will get really interesting.

If i move a dman or 2 i need something of quality returned otherwise i don't think it would be a bad thing to have a roster with Crevier and Kaiser on it. I really like how Crevier is getting more physical and Kaiser is thinking and playing the game faster than he was before.

- BetweenTheDots

I still have a visceral negative reaction to Crevier. No idea where it comes from, but I can't shake it. At a minimum, they NEED to get him away from Vlasic. That pairing sucks.

Kaiser also need just a "regular" D partner. Having him try to understand what/where Lev is going to do next is not anywhere near fair. As much as it pains me to say, I wouldn't mind Brodie paired with Lev just to give Kaiser a better option to play with. Kaiser with Murphy or Vlasic (Kaiser would play his off side) I think would be really good.

I 100% agree, your willingness to trade any of the young D is purely driven by the return, and it better be good.

I'm the same way. Crevier has improved, but to me, he is still just a good lower level Dman. I am still not sold that he is a regular in the NHL or more than a 6-7 guy.

I agree for now, i think he's got 50 games in the NHL? I see some nice potential in him. Big kids like this take a while if they aren't athletic studs like Artie is at his age.

I hope KD steers completely clear. While Torts has some good points as a coach Chicago don’t need the circus he’ll bring.

Based on the last game Torts was in the UC, KFC should hire him to sit right behind the visitor bench every game!

I agree at this stage i want a coach who nurtures these kids and plays them, but holds them accountable with the amount of minutes they get, not through the media or an outburst in the middle of a game between 2 people.

Don’t want any part of Torts. The best partner for Levs is currently injured, that’s Martinez, he needs a vet or at the very least Vlasic.

They don't to make a corresponding move. There is no roster limits after the TDL as long as you remain cap complaint.

IMO the selection of the next coach is more important than who they draft with their first pick. If he gets this wrong, it won't be just the coach that is fired.

Agreed. Typically a GM gets to fire a coach maybe two. Two coaches will, or should be fired this season. Can KD take a chance on an unknown, to the NHL, or does he just regurgitate a “old boy’s club” coach? I’d like to see Carle get a chance over a guy like Boudreau. So far KD has made some great moves. This is a move that, as you say, he can’t (frank) up.

This team was never going to win. Young defense, no offense. Three young defense men playing at one time is a young defense. And those three old guys were just that. Old. Then there's the no offense again.

My hesitation with Carle is that since Johnson in the early 90's, coaches coming from college generally have not done well, especially with their first NHL stint as coach.

There has only been 5

Ned Harkness.
Bob Johnson.
Dave Hakstol.
Jim Montgomery.
David Quinn.

He had said he had no interest in coaching here before LR was hired. I would be shocked if he came here.

Just thinking that they wouldn't want to sit a kid with KK playing. Brodie is already sitting out. They aren't going to sit Murphy, unless he got injured again.

Considering he last comments before getting fired, I wouldn't image he would have any interest at all in coaching the Hawks.

Nick Foligno as player coach Then he might be worth the $4.5M they are paying him, and Danny saves some money by not hiring a coach

Maybe they want to give Lev one more practice with the big team before sending him to RFD. RFD doesn't play until tomorrow.

If they want to burn the year, so be it. All things considered, you can make a good argument his play warrants staying with the big boys.
