Not sure if mentioned but the Hawks signed Taige Harding to an ELC

Taige Harding signed. Age 23, LD, 2-12-14 in 37 games at Providence. 6-7, 236.

More depth for ROC. Hard to see a path to Chicago, but you can't teach size, so never know. ROC is going to have a lot of LD, not much on the right. Doubt there is a spot for Kelley, unless he wants to play on an AHL contract.

I hope Bertuzzi doesn't fall and take out Nazar too many times. See, I pay attention.

I would not call the Bears FO great. Took them too long to realize they needed on OLine and coach.

New 3rd line looks interesting, no one to slow them down, how could this coach possibly put together a line without an aging vet to slow the youngsters down???

Poles tried to build the O line on the cheap. Swing and miss. Ir regardless what's been said, I don't think the coach was his choice. Firing him earlier meant the owner eating a lot of his choices salary. No way Poles would have gotten the budget to hire Johnson without Warren telling George he had to spend more for a coach.
- rpeters01

You'll never convince me he knew Ben Johnson wasn't going to move last year, wanted him, and convinced ownership it was better to wait, then higher another coach.

That 3rd line has some after burners. Slaggert better get on his horse or Moore and Reichel will leave him in the dust.

Best lines and D pairings I've seen all year. Love seeing Foligno on the 4th line. Let's hope they last more than 1 period.

Boisvert AND Misa to Boston U next yr? https://www.msn.com/en-us...ec38913bc00ee6152af&ei=48

Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects said to expect Boisvert to head over to Boston University.

BU is a powerhouse in collegiate hockey. As of April 1, they are in the Frozen Four and are set to take on Penn St in the Semifinals. Current freshmen include Cole Eiserman, Cole Hutson, and goaltender Mikhail Yegorov. Michael Misa is rumored to have shown interest in playing for BU next season. Misa currently plays in the OHL, however, the NCAA recently agreed to allow CHL players to join their ranks. Misa is ranked third overall and just finished an incredible regular season in the OHL.

College hockey continues to produce high-caliber NHL players, and it seems like it's about to get better.

The similarities stop when you realize the Bears have a great FO and the Hawks do not. Coaches maybe but even the players roster, the Bears have a lot of solid vets to pair with young guys whereas the Hawks do not.
- Assman22

The bears having a great front office… hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha

There are few teams in the league with a worse record than the Bears since this staff took over. There are few teams in the league that have won less playoff games in my lifetime. They are one of the worst run organizations in sports.

If they'd fired Flus a year ago they would have hired another $4M a year coach.

Hmm why did we get rid of Strome ?
I wouldn't mind seeing him feeding Bedard pucks.

Because he couldn’t win puck battles, because he was as soft as a baby’s butt, because he was slow. He could always pass but he wasn’t someone to build around long term.

Only if Phillips had anything to do with it. Johnson wanted to coach here believe it or not him and his family love to come to Chicago every summer to watch a Cubs series. Main reason the year before he stayed in Detroit. The only way he wouldn't of been the head coach of Chicago is if the FO told Poles he couldn't hire him

He’s having a nice year but is only +4 on the point leader out east. By comparison Portas is +40. Not a big plus minus guy but here it’s quite telling.

They’re definitely in the team picture but the vibe seems to be changing. Everything they’ve done in the last year is very Un-Bears-like.

Firing an OC and HC in-season, actually spending money on the hot name and getting “The Guy" in this latest coaching cycle vs “just another guy” like Flus.

I think RP’s right about the presence of Kevin Warren playing a big part in making George realize the coach actually matters and then ponying up for one. That last year of Matt Eberflus’ HC'ing tenure might’ve played a part too.

I’m sure it’s a BS rumour. Chicago acquires Alexis Lafrenière from the Rangers in exchange for Toronto’s first and Oliver Moore. Chicago get a young NHL ready forward coming off a down year for two essentially unknowns. Is it too much for Lafreniere?
