Because he couldn’t win puck battles, because he was as soft as a baby’s butt, because he was slow. He could always pass but he wasn’t someone to build around long term.
- paulr

Very true , I have not seen him play this year ,except high lights , wonder if he has improved in some of those aspects Stll can make nice passes though.

Yeah I think that would be too much.

He’s not as bad as some of the change of scenery guys Stanbo traded for but I think I’d pass too. Idk that he fits KFC’s model for speed either.

Edit - I know it’s a down year for him but looked up his stats and better than I thought. Still wouldn’t trade Moore for him. Would rather deal from our depth on D.

He can make some nice passes. I'm glad he found a niche that is working well for him. When he was engaged 100% he was really good, but I just recall he was inconsistent, he would float/disappear for long stretches and his play on the defensive side of the puck wasn't strong when he was here.

I’m sure it’s a BS rumour. Chicago acquires Alexis Lafrenière from the Rangers in exchange for Toronto’s first and Oliver Moore. Chicago get a young NHL ready forward coming off a down year for two essentially unknowns. Is it too much for Lafreniere?

It's close to a fair deal IMO, so I don't think it's too much for a guy who is a 2nd line player. However, he has a 7.5 x 7 million dollar extension soon to kick in, so with him having a down year I would pass. If he had a really strong defensive game or some more depth to him it would be a different story, but it's a lot of money for a winger that just doesn't have much extra dimension to him.

I don't think KD will be willing to trade Moore just yet. If it all comes together for him he could be a star in the league. Lafreniere i like a lot but if it were me i couldn't make that trade.

Now if they were interested in one of my defenseman then maybe.

I don’t think Lafreniere is the right young forward to trade for. I’ve watched a lot of Ranger games this year, what they need is defense. Now, for the right young forward(McTavish/Fantilli), I would make that trade and throw in Crevier.

I think now that many of the Blackhawks blue chippers are making their way to their ELCs we'll hear many trades like this.

For me more trades like Seth Jones for Knight, that was a beauty.

Toronto isn’t rebuilding so I can’t see them making that move. A more realistic trade would include Vlasic I would think. Say Vlasic and getting back their first. And I’m not sure Toronto would even move Knies for that.

They have $27 mil in cap space and Marner's going to take half of that. Still need 5 more skaters. Tavares and Knies being two of them. Knies would be leaving $8 mil or so on the table over 2 years if he stays in Toronto.

And unfortunately the Ducks aren’t moving McTavish, but man he’d fit right in. Last year I wanted KD to trade Toronto’s pick for Holloway and the Blues got him for a third, KD needs to listen to me, Holloway would also fit right in on this team. Armstrong should be in jail for that one.

Yeah I was hoping KD would try to acquire Holloway. And I’d love to see McTavish on Chicago but there’s very little chance. The only way I can see Knies in Chicago is if he becomes an RFA and KD outbids the leafs. But I suspect thevLeafs will lock him up long before he sees free agency.

Only if Phillips had anything to do with it. Johnson wanted to coach here believe it or not him and his family love to come to Chicago every summer to watch a Cubs series. Main reason the year before he stayed in Detroit. The only way he wouldn't of been the head coach of Chicago is if the FO told Poles he couldn't hire him
- BetweenTheDots

Ehh, Chicago for $4M or somewhere else for $10M. He would learn to like a new city.

Looks like it was a PuckPedia user making up trades. Think that may be a bit much to pay for Lafreniere given performance as well as what is owed to him.

I posted this a few days ago-If Florida resigns Bennett (and Ekblad and maybe Marchand), it’s going to be difficult for them to justify carrying Lundell at $5 a year to play 3rd line center. He is a responsible 2-way center with some offensive pop. Think he would look good on line #2

What would it take to pry him loose? Reichel + 2nd? Maybe Toronto's first?

Not much out there on the UFA market so will probably take moves like this to grab anyone that moves the needle at all.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure I trade Moore even up. The first by itself, maybe. I'm done taking a chance on guys.

Del Mastro deserves to get some time. KK had a few rough shifts last game too. Baby Hawks D pairings (aside from Murphy).

Let's hope Donato and Mikheyev keep driving the net and carrying pucks in deep. Also maybe hit Bedard in stride on a few passes.

Bedard looks like a different cat when there is some open ice and/or when he is not getting double teamed. I'm starting to buy Paulr's gretzky vibes now. Bedard is looking what to do with the puck before he even gets it.

I like Del Mastro, there’s a reason he played big minutes for team Canada in the U20’s. Hard to believe he was a 4th round pick. I can see him with the Hawks long term, although there’s still some development needed, like reacting vs thinking.

Oh, I’m sure, I’d drive him to the airport. There’s a lot of young defensive talent on the Hawks, for the right return, I’d move any of them, and B Tkachuk is the right return.

Don’t be hyperbolic, I’m 100% sure KD Vlasic and a first for Celebrini. San Jose wouldn’t though.
