- Matt_Foleys_bro

Someone listed the record a few thousand posts ago. I think we still count as pikers as of now.

TODAY'S TANKATHON

ANA takes the big jump to #1. CHI keeps #2, SJ falls to #3. Misa was the consensus #2 a while ago, now there seems to be some doubt. What would it take to trade out of #2, say to #8, at the bottom of the Wiz tier 1?

9 Anaheim
2 Chicago
1 San Jose
3 Nashville
4 Boston
5 Seattle
6 Philadelphia
7 Buffalo
8 Pittsburgh
10 NY Islanders
11 Detroit
12 NY Rangers
13 Columbus
14 Utah
15 Vancouver
16 Calgary (to MON)

Given the above, would you make the following trade?

To BUF:
CH! #1 2025 (#2 overall)
F Lucas Reichel

To CHI:
BUF #1 2025 (#8 overall)
F Zach Benson
F Brodie Ziemer

The record is 20k+ posts. Had to be about 38 years if not an original 6 team.

I know it’s kinda boring to keep harping on a guy who isn’t here anymore, but man, Seth is struggling right now. Turnover in the corner leads quickly to a goal against.

I never thought he was really bad, but maybe playing in Chicago just messed him up.

- Chunk

I really never thought he was that good, honestly

He's a bag of unforced errors, hard to win games with a player like that, curious to see how bad it gets in the playoffs

like the premise of the trade but if Hawks get the 2nd overall pick they are picking Misa checks a lot of boxes Hawks need. One player or two on Buffalo o like to see Hawks to target is mcclound and perterka and possibly Quinn but nobody knows what direction Buffalo is going in.

Or some countries negotiate. Or tax cuts get rolling toward passing, or interest rates drop.........

In the publicshere people talking like every other country has the leverage in these moves, couldn't be further from the truth.

Lets see what happens

- vabeachbear

If the point is to bring manufacturing back to the U.S. then the tariffs have to remain. That is what the administration has stated. There are tariffs in place on countries that barely have any tariffs on U.S. goods.

If the point it to generate revenue, which the administration has stated, to the point they are going to try to factor it into the budget reconciliation, then the tariffs have to remain.

You cannot have both of those but also claim the purpose is to renegotiate better trade deals. If you renegotiate and lower the tariffs then the revenue from them declines and manufacturing won’t come back (not that it will with tariffs in place).

Most likely out come other countries divest from the U.S. and turn to China. Already starting in the Indo pacific.

I actually support targeted tariffs to help support US manufacturing. Not what is happening now. And not the nonsensical way the tariffs were calculated. The formula used is absolute nonsense.

This isn’t good for anyone. Meanwhile Trump continues to manufacture all of his merchandise in China (and then marks them up for massive profits) while he tells Americans to buy American made products.

Is it bad? Or is it cathartic? All I see is - whoa, that would have been us.

I noticed there is only like 15 blogs on the front page, so assume half the teams on here have lost their blogger?

Sometimes tariffs are to prevent another country flooding the market. The tariffs Canada puts on dairy products is an example. Canada has never collected any money
on the tariffs on American dairy, even though there are some hefty tariffs if the imports go over the specified amounts. Since Canada is one of the largest importer of American dairy products then that base amount is pretty substantial.

I’m watching the game. Lardis is having a good series. North Bay is targeting him physically. Lardis knows how to avoid hits and teams can’t seem to get a piece of him. Someone once commented that hitting Gretzky was like punching a hanging rope, you just can’t get a solid piece of him, Lardis has that same knack. He’s really got some smarts, his ability to find open spots the ice is quite amazing. It will be interesting to see him at the next level.

If you can find the highlights check out Lardis’ second goal, in alone he shoots through his legs. He doesn’t generally try trick plays, so it was as unexpected for the goalie as it was to me. And his third goal was a one timer from the right hash marks, his specialty.

Top forwards in this draft need a season in the AHL? Just curious. Add a blue chip forward to the team on the ice last night and next season could be really fun. Hawks still below .500 but some fun hockey.

But isn't it great that it's Blackhawk draft picks standing out in their respected playoffs.

On top of it they aren't 1st round draft picks, so a lot of darts they may not end up being anything but what if one or more are.

Right now? 7 are 1sts. Nazar Bedard Rinzel Moore KK Lev and Reichel.

Edit: wow I can’t read lol. I agree about Frozen 4. Love Greene’s game. Middle six C that can skate and plays 2 way hockey. Has some scoring touch too.

Something I think the Hawks really need.

Ya, guys like Misiak (always thought he would be a perfect 3C), Lardis, Kantserov, Greene, Hayes, Savoie, Ludwinski etc. only need 1 or 2 of them to hit.

Sudbury was eliminated from the OHL playoffs.

Question now is whether to sign Alex Pharand, Rd. 4 pick (#99 overall) in 2023. Rights will expire on 6/1/25.

6-3, 192, RW, 20 yo. 17G, 42A, 59 pts, 44 PIM in 65 games for Sudbury. 1A in playoffs as Sudbury lost all 4 playoff games.

Good size and will probably max out as a bottom 6 guy if he makes it.

Sign Pharand to a contract or let his rights expire?

Hawks have all sorts of darts. Add a blue chip forward to the mix and things look awfully nice.

No worries i do the same thing some times, hahaha.

I don't think it's a matter of if, more like when. The one thing that the last SC ride showed me is you need many different shapes and sizes to be a multiple SC team

Definitely. Always thought Nazar Greene Moore becoming a real nice 2nd line would be really set them up nicely.

If he doesn't have speed which IDK? We don't need another bottom 6 player.
