So it pretty much comes down to who the Isles pick. They pick Hagens we get Misa, they pick Scheafer we get...controversy...
- Matt_Foleys_bro

There are two possibilities for Misa to be available, the Isles go with Hagens in which case San Jose runs to the podium to select Schaefer. Or the Isles select Schaefer, San Jose pick Martone because they already have two similar players to Misa in Celebrini and Smith. Is the either likely? Probably not.

KD would have no choice, however I’m pretty sure San Jose covet him.
- paulr

Paulie, at 75 years old, I have come to a point when I cannot make a statement like that. I just don't know.

You think if they think Misa is compable to Matthew Celebrini, they just PASS?I get so carzy in my projects, but never can feel right on them.

A lot of the talking heads (CHGO, Powers, Buccigross, etc) are expecting Blashill to be the guy.

I think they are all saying Blashill since he is the only one that they know of to interview at this point. As more interviewees come out, they will jump around on who the new coach will be.

I see he’s listed at 6’2”(sorry, not doing centimeters)and 177 lbs on tankathon, so he has a nice frame to grow into for those looking for size. Toews played at 6’2” and 201 in his later years, not sure what he came in at. A friend of mine is willing to trade KK, Toronto’s pick and Hawks #1 to move up one spot for Misa(if he’s still on the board)says he’s that good. I’d rather trade KK and Toronto’s pick for a known commodity and keep the 3rd pick. Not suggesting that they move KK, I’m just thinking that’s a better option in my book.

That trade will never happen on our side.

Hawks is the best job left
- vabeachbear

Hmm, the next coach only has to develop a team of youngsters and win more right away.

Not saying i have read it, but are you trying to tell me if players develop and improve (think Nazar when he first came up to how he played end of season) everyone won't conisder it a success?

The narrative hear that their jobs are all on the line if they don't win a lot more this year is BS in my opinion.

Rebuild has to keep moving forward. That's all

You know i believe i recall fans were saying the samething last off season, i don't think Danny is a dummy,, he knows this is going to take what it takes so long as you see progress in the development in the the org as a whole. I believe we're seeing that.

Toronto with a nice game tonight

I do agree with you Paul about some players, Matthews had a chance to bury Marchand and he did a fly by, i thought this of Kucherov, which he ended up doing, until those guys are willing to get their hands dirty its going to be tough for them to win a cup.

I couldn't find the Paul goodman firing or reasons...
- wiz1901

According to an article from Scott Powers and Mark Lazerus of The Athletic, the Chicago Blackhawks have made a minor move on their bench. The pair of writers shared that the Blackhawks have relieved strength and conditioning coach, Paul Goodman, of his duties. Goodman had been one of Chicago’s longest-tenured employees, joining the club ahead of the 2008-09 season and winning three Stanley Cup rings.

The Blackhawks have several prospects whose draft rights are set to expire on June 1 and are not expected to sign before then.

Those players include Victor Stjernborg, a 2021 fourth-round pick; Alex Pharand, a 2023 fourth-round pick; Marcel Marcel, a 2023 fifth-round pick; and Milton Oscarson, a 2023 sixth-round pick.

bon voyage, slackers!

I saw that the Cubs had two Norris-winning defensemen at their game today. Duncan Keith threw out the first pitch (what is he doing in town?) and Chris Chelios. Cubs kicked the pale hose ass 13-3 but the sox third baseman went 4-4 with two home runs.

Their two regular season superstars have no stomach for playoff hockey. Anyone wondering why KD shouldn’t try to sign Marner just watch this series. He’s absolutely terrified out there.
- paulr

Cardiologist Dr. Paul is right, we would never want the kind of players that combine for the game winning goal to extend the Stanley Cup Champions to Game 7. Obviously they have no heart and no place in this rebuild.

It's Todd Nelson until it's not. Blashill is just the first intriguing name they've actually conversated with that didn't shoot them down (Carle).

Probably not making it to the 2nd round.

Steve from Mopeville is eerily quiet when the heartless twins have four bad games in a row. A leaf playoff win where the regular season superstars had a goal but was otherwise invisible and Steve comes to life.

If either play three games in a row where they are the best players on the ice my opinion will change.

If the rumors of Blashill are true it's a good sign that KD is considering placing someone in the organization that is not a first timer and has experience. A sign of confidence or he's been told by Wirtz and Faulkner to get someone with an NHL track record. Of the retreads available, others have Stanley Cup rings as Head Coach, which would be helpful. The prospects don't need another kindergarten coach. They need someone who will be tough and instill Championship quality habits. Better details will lead to more wins.
