Great minds & all.
I thought that when I saw the days are comin'.

I am with you, I am wanting to see you has their interest in centres Frondell Desnoyers Hagens & is they would really NOT take centre and simply grab that different style teammate in Martone.

I was gonna save my guess and break down the three Centre-LW / Centre-RWs when i have time closer to the decision.

I do know Kyle did mention "players who will be playing in the bigs sooner in this class. "

Then we all should have an idea is FOUR picked player, or 3, or 2, or just 1(Misa)

The more I see and hear about Desnoyers the more he is the guy I’d like to see. Apparently the top hockey IQ in the draft. Looking forward to seeing him in the Memorial Cup where I can see how he competes against his CHL counterparts.

Assuming Schaefer and Misa go 1-2, I would be happy with Hagens, Martone or Desnoyers. As such, I wouldn't mind trading down a spot or 2 and using the extra pick(s) to improve our 2nd first round pick.

Admittedly, I really don't know much about Frondell.

Moncton’s first game won’t be easy, they get London on May 24.

The Hawks have drafted third overall three times since 2003, Barker, Toews and Dach. The trend is a hit every other pick(huge sample size) and to draft French Canadian (Toews mom), so Desnoyers it is!

Based on very limited viewing of scouting videos, Martone and Desnoyers stood out the most to me. I am assuming Misa is already taken.

Frondell is the one I like the least from the group being projected as possible at 3.

- Elbows15

Same plus Kyle doesn't seem too interested in Euro players based on his past drafts

What an interesting pre-draft assessment we're being treated with! Martone playing for Canada and Desnoyers vs London

Is Shaffer the consensus #1 like Shane Wright was the consensus #1? Only in the fans eyes.
- rpeters01

It was not the fans who watched his play and had him ascend, it was his play and all their eyes, seeing how well he is in every phase...

The general consensus I've heard is none of the top prospects are essentially NHL ready.

It could probably be debated about a couple of them, but picking 3rd we are unlikely to see the Hawks draft a player that will be an impact player next season. Maybe we take someone who sees some NHL minutes, but safe bet that it will be 1-3 years before the are "ready" to really play impactful NHL hockey.

That is the question...is it one, two three, four...I am as curious as you are to know how mnay he meant and who.
I can guess but I want his answer, which we will never get.

Misa, and MAYBE Frondell
- LetsGoHawks

Well, I think you are correct.
Frondell is 190+ and is engaged with the opposition a lot.

I would love to hear Desnoyer's name there, especailly since the Hawks need to get better, sell tickets and find the "another high end centre" I mentioned in an earlier post.

One more youngster on this team you is an early pick only gets a bit more fan interest.

Jeff Blashill to be named Hawks new head coach. Another bald guy to follow Sorensen and King lol.

Edit: Supposedly Sorensen to stay w team as an assistant with two more assistants to be named from other teams. [per BR/Bamford]

While the Hawks have to take Misa at 3 if he is there, my next guy for the Hawks is increasingly Desnoyers. He fits the KFC vision thoroughly (skating, skill at pace, transition, high IQ). Now the Guy Lafleur trophy winner (playoff MVP in the Q) with eye opening Crosby-like production. High end character and work ethic; love his tech-driven approach to training. Has much needed size at 6'2", may still grow a bit, and will fill out to 195-200. Pencils in as long-term 2C with two way ability; as a high end playmaker, will need goal scorers on his wings. Likely needs one year before NHL.

I hope he learned a lot working under Cooper. I'm not sure what to make of his time with Detroit. That seemed like an exercise in futility.

Disappointing, but i really can't tell you why. No coach they hired was going to get me excited except maybe Carle, and honestly, none of us know how he'd do as a NHL coach.

After Ben Johnson hire, no one would get you excited. Plus this guy is the probably in the Ricky Renteria category as a coach, someone to get them to the next step, but not over the top.

That guy they'll hire in 3 or 4 years.

At least he has NHL experience, unlike their last three coaches. I’m willing to give KD the benefit of the doubt, Blashill’s roster in Detroit was comparable to the talent that Richardson had with the Hawks, so can’t really fault him for his record there. I would have liked Carle as well, but I’m not disappointed in this hire, as I’d rather have Blashill over the usual suspects out there.

Given that he spent 3 years on Coopers staff should be a big bonus. Never hurts to learn from the best....

I would of liked Carle as well but my guess is he used the NHL teams to get paid in Denver. And i don't blame him at all for it, wise business move.

Considering we are a few years away if it doesn't work out we can always hire a prominent coach since i believe we'll be on the cusp of being a playoff team.

Hope they won't have to and he just didn't have talent to win in Detroit

I get Carle was the shiny new object, but Quinn had a bunch of success in college. So did Hakstol. I'd much rather (especially at this point) have a guy with at least AHL success if not NHL experience.

I'm not over the moon about Blashlll, but this is far from the end of the world.

Man it'd be something if Oliver Moore can play as fast as McDavid, twice now blowing by the defender
