Appreciate all the updates, keep them coming. Like Dots said, they won’t all make it, but it sure is nice having all these darts, and two more #1’s on the way.

When will the Penguins team begin to be dismantled? It seems preposterous to say the Penguins GM hopes to delay the inevitable break up by making bold trades to lift the team into playoff contention. The last hurrah of veteran former stars (who remain good players but not the impact difference makers they formerly were) is playing out and ouch …not a nice picture unfolding

Tonight the Penguins are down 3-1 to the Winnipeg Jets / it was 3-0. They are being outshot two to one.

When does the end come? Planning it out now but the timing for trades is later in the season perhaps up to trade deadline and even after the season. Well they do retain their first round selection which looks right now to be a lottery selection

Penguins is toast albeit they now are on the cusp of smoking and not yet totally burnt toast

My grandson wanted to play mini sticks so I relented and turned off the game. Now my knees are killing me.

It was once I got the ice bags on my knees. Trouble is the kid can play all day and I feel guilty telling him I’m done.

You know what's great is he's doing all this without Vanacker

Actually he doesn’t play with Vanacker but to your point he did lose his winger Canadien’s draft pick Florian Xhekaj.

We all know our top dman prospects playing here in the NHL and in the AHL

I just noticed that Columbus has three first round draft choices, each a dman, playing on their farm club

AHL story on Matyvichuk (sic) is the source which led me to post this

Xhekaj played left wing on Lardis’s line last season. It’s possible Vanacker will when he gets back but last season he didn’t, or didn’t very often.

I know that the FO said they aren’t calling up any forward prospects anytime soon, but Nazar is ready. He has the strength and balance to enter the zone and skate through checks and pressure with possession. Can create his own shot and for others and is actually quite good defensively.

Other Hogs who had good games were Dach, and KK. Not on the scoresheet, but just their overall play, and look during the flow of the game.

He got the win tonight and only gave up one goal, but man, Commesso looks kinda wobbly and unsure.

Boisvert with an assist on the overtime winner. He has 10 points in 12 games for North Dakota.

Like Gustav Forsling? ..... I liked the way a 6th rd rookie Dman handled himself for 30ish NHL games on a historically bad club paired with a 34 yr old vet who's played 100 NHL games.

Some not so much.

- Mr Ricochet

Look around the league these days, so many teams could use a young, mobile defensemen right now, but every other team passed on this guy, twice.

That should tell you that every other G.M. in this league sees the same thing I do.

He is just not NHL material. His decision making and reaction times are both lacking, regardless of his skating ability.

Connor Bedard looked the most discouraged I've ever seen him after practice today.

"I could name 100 things

- captainserious[I could do better]. I don't know, man. It's been frustrating, for sure. I just don't feel like I'm really doing anything. Keep chipping away at it, I guess, and hopefully I'll find my game again."

Article from Pope

https://chicago.suntimes....ichardinson-joey-anderson

LR is going to lose Bedard if he keeps this crap up.

Because teams that employ the zone trap are teams that are not good offensively.

It's a system coaches use to keep games close, and it delays their inevitable firing.

It's unbelievable when a guy like Tim Anderson, a batting champ, pulls a Jason Heyward. Nobody can plan for that.

Big difference - Jason Heyward wasn't a complete douche bag that everyone hated.

...You’d think Bedard was a Prima Donna. Let’s see him figure his game out and maybe work on some aspects he’s weak at like playing stronger defensively, winning faceoffs etc..
- paulr

Part of the problem I think, is he doesn't seem to have much of an idea of how to play winger. It didn't really help much when the other winger on that line didn't seem to have much of a clue either - in the sense that I lost count how many times I saw both wingers playing the same wing ... at the same time. Generally that doesn't work too well especially when digging for pucks - and especially in the d-zone - because there isn't going to be a guy anywhere where you expect him to be for an outlet pass ... of course they had worked that one out by virtue of not being able to make outlet passes.

At this point I think he might be in the place of 'ok, what is 'my game' supposed to be?' Personally I think he might be better placed to get ticked off, instead of dejected - turn it outwards instead of inward... like in eff it - give me the puck ... and I know he's got that in him - I've seen it. Just not recently.
