I think LR is killing him with constantly changing his linemates. Just like he did with Reichel last year. - BetweenTheDots
Not you specifically, but you notice that whenever Bedard is doing great, he gets so much credit. When he struggles, people just blame the coach.
Maybe it's because he is a 19 year old kid playing at the highest level of hockey with a franchise on his shoulders. He is gonna have ups and downs. It doesn't help that the team is only getting one Powerplay a game and that is where offensively gifted guys like Bedard make a lot of impact. |

I'd like to see him stick with the line he was on today 71 98 86. - HawkintheD
I would like to see him stick with (frank)ing something! Hall didn't expect that great little touch pass from Bedard because they haven't played at all together. Bedard and Reichel have that tool in their tool box. Funny after a few games how that 4th line has been playing better and better. |

Bedard is easy to stop because teams know they don’t have to worry about anyone but him so he’s being double and sometimes triple teamed. He’s going to have add new elements to his game like forechecking or stop at the net when an opponent shoots instead of doing flybys. If he had two really good linemates teams couldn’t focus on him especially considering he’s as good a playmaker as he is a shooter. |
|

Bedard isn’t involved in the thick of things to draw penalties. He’s going to have to get his nose over the puck, go to the net, backcheck and forecheck harder. - paulr
Not true, he gets tripped, slashed, held. I didn't see much of it in this game but against the Ducks and Panthers he did. |

It does get irritating for me that LR can't just let him get familiar with a pair of linemates, it's as if they want him to struggle.

It's a plot developed by KD and LR to keep him around 50 points per season so his next contract will come in under 10M.

Mrazek and the 4th line deserved the win. The rest of the team - not so much.
This is one of the softest, if not the softest, Blackhawks teams I’ve seen and that’s saying a lot.
This was the game that does it for me. I’m back on the tank-train (again). I expected the Hawks wouldn’t be in this position this season, but here we are. - DarthKane No physicality no team speed lazy play not very good at the face-off dots lack of an identity Benard look lost at times some players just playing for pay checks. Hahaha, it's either that or LR needs to find a support group for being addicted to forward line changes. |

Agree. I am sorry but I cannot think of one reason to have Anderson on the top line. It's like asking Bedard to play with one hand tied behind his back. Why don't you just ask Bedard to play left handed.
Anderson would be my 10th option after D!ckinson, Hall, Donato, Smith, Bertuzzi, Folgino, TT, Reichel, Maroon, Kurashev. And I really like Anderson when he is slotted correctly on the 3rd or 4th line. |

That 4th line is our best line. At worst it should get at least as much TOI as the 2nd line.
1- Bedard D!ckinson Donato
2- Maroon Reichel Smith
2A- Hall Bertuzzi TT
Shutdown - Mikheyev (or Kurashev) Foligno Anderson

Can Pang quit saying "Patty" Maroon? Just sounds annoying.... |

That’s fourth line that scored two goals got the least amount of ice time, if I’m not mistaken. Play frankin Bedard with more talent, Anderson doesn’t even belong in the NHL, shoot, Guttman brings more to the table. |

We all know our top dman prospects playing here in the NHL and in the AHL
I just noticed that Columbus has three first round draft choices, each a dman, playing on their farm club
AHL story on Matyvichuk (sic) is the source which led me to post this - jhawk59
But they don't have Lardis. |

Hall tt Benard
Kurashev Richardenson Bert
Donato Foligno Mikheyev
Smith reichel Maroon
Anderson extra
Hawks are not getting much out of Mikheyev Kurashev Foligno, tt and Bertuzzi have been disappointing so far Benard squeezing the stick and learning on the job he'll be fine. Hall been just ok might more time to feel comfortable after coming back from the knee injury. When your 4th line is consistently the best line every game then there is problems. Shake up the roster bring someone up or make a trade , but something needs to change. Coaching players something. |

How beneficial was putting up points in the AHL to Reichel? That time there didn't help his off the puck game - which I think is his biggest issue.
If he's ready physically for the NHL game and has the skill to contribute offensively just let him take his lumps with the big club. Being that much better than the comp is only going to reinforce bad habits the longer he's there. - fattybeef
Nazar is listed 5 pounds heavier than Reichel. |
