Laz had an article ready to go to blast the organization, he's still bitter about the tank, but that one he had queued up.
Hockey insider Chaz sounded dumbfounded on 720. Pretty much "well there's some stuff like the late game losses, repeated mental mistakes and Bedards struggles - plus Kurashev's regression and Reichel's struggles" BUT if the team last year added 50 goals they'd still be 5th worst in the league based on last years numbers so what can the expectations really be for this year?
Its bizarre. They think Anders was the pick because of his developmental background so it looks like there is something there they didn't like with Richardson.
Powers said pretty much the same thing. He didn't sound overly surprised but didn't expect them to continue with Richardson after the season was over. He thinks the biggest issues were Bedard, line blending and not holding leads.
Should be interesting to see how Saturday goes. The Jets are on a 4 game losing streak so this seems like one that could be a doozie.
Also sounds like they specifically wanted a development guy there to finish out the year for what thats worth.
The Granato is a different one. He coached in Colorado for a few years before Q got the job. Went to the playoffs and under achieved. Then coached at Wisconsin for a number of years and most of the Wisconsin fans were ecstatic when he was fired. - fattybeef
Lazerus is a turd.....hates the organization for the Beach scandal and will never let it go. Wish some NY beat would pick him up......I muted him on X, and unless something major happens where Powers retweets it I do my VERY BEST to skip anything he writes, tweets......sure he had a mental breakdown in early November.

I was out downtown for dinner with my youngest daughter, right down the street from the Hockey Hall of Fame. Haven’t been there for twenty years. Just got home to read about Richardson. I was concerned KD may get pressured into making a move he didn’t want to make. Hopefully it was his decision or this team will be in big trouble. - paulr
If you are concerned about the meddling from Wirtz, I get it.....but for the all the money they spent with their "One goal" ads to lure in a new age of Hawks fans....do you think an owner is going to tolerate multiple years in a row with top 3 bottom finishes, no TV exposure, and burried in the news cycle? This isn't Florida but it's not Canada either.....if Bedard isn't putting up numbers what makes a casual fan want to go to a game? Watch Joey Anderson and the remains of Alec martinez?
Again, team wasn't making the playoffs...everyone knew that...but YOY improvement had to happen and for whatever reason they were taking a STEP backwards.......
Not all on Richardson, but it's not like he didn't have a lot of reasons to be sent packing. Was either happening NOW or this summer given the trajectory they were on. |

I'm not high on Reichel either. I just figure if it is a lost season, might as well see what he can do with guys that can generate more offense.
He might look good for a short stint and then they might be able to include him in a bigger trade for something of value..? - captainserious
I think the clock is about to strike midnight on 73....Maybe he gets going under a new coach but man.....between him and dach those are 2 big misses for potential building blocks that could already be in place.
Further yet, you almost need to flip him before his value plummets even further.....assuming we arent' there yet. Dude is playing 4th line minutes and shows some flashes with his speed and skill but not consistently enough to make me think he can be counted on LT here. |

Ek ran out of money and missed paycheques to writers. So many have quit. The pay was so ridiculously low that this was the last straw. Ek couldn't upgrade his servers to handle a new data feed to keep his hockey draft contest going.
This domain will likely fail within a couple months.
Does anyone have good alternative sites with Hawk dialogue? |

Ben Pope has been posting stuff on X about Kyle's comments regarding the state of the team and Luke
Davidson said he wants to give the team a few games to settle things down before considering any call-ups, such as Nazar. |

Bertuzzi and TT are not first line players on a good team. Without a Bedard line scoring regularly it behooves how the heck you have a serious threatening offensive line. Lately Reichel Maroon Smith had some moments. KD notion of a rebuild did not acquire top line talent and our forward lines overall is too slow. The owner can blame the coach but really it is KD’s fault the team struggles.,
I believe that TT, Bertuzzi and Hall would fare better when they are not the top line candidates so often. When there are others scoring TT in Carolina was a capable producer.
Whenever a 2025 draft choice, some other youngsters are playing here, and another veteran who can score come aboard, the team should be much better. Hopefully Bertuzzi,,TT and Hall can thrive or produce at a better clip when they are more secondary scoring option.
Even a Tortorello would have difficulty squeezing much better results out of this current group
Yet just to get Bedard on track, it isn’t the coaching this year but more a case of more suitable linemattes
I wouldn’t be surprised if the owner had a voice in this firing. For KD to feel he expected better results from this group, that is sour grapes. He isn’t going to own up to his failure to live with with dignity rebuild those kind of players don’t join up until next season the earliest. And going one step farther, our top young dmen prospects play well and this team is much more capable. - jhawk59
Yeah, we see it. Both the lousy offensive players and nicely developing defensive players. LR's line juggling actually makes more sense now. He was desperately trying to save his job. The long rebuild appears to be short circuiting already. LR had the team playing up to its ability.

Also respectfully, what would you want a new blogger to write about? His/her thoughts on the daily lineup, the recap of the previous game, how the prospects are doing in their respective leagues, what trades to make or free agents to sign, the firing of a coach? That all can be found elsewhere and there is substantial discussion here among ourselves on those and other topics, blogger or not. So what if it's 95 pages long and counting. It takes about two seconds to get to the current page. |

Correct, his wife completes her residency in NY next year.
Who's going to claim him? Somebody with 8M in cap space. Friedman reporting Columbus is in the mix. Detroit was supposedly interested in him last summer. - boilermaker100
Bertuzzi and Phillips/Crevier for Trouba and Kakko, then retain 50% on Trouba and move him to Detroit for a pick. KD needs to get creative. |

Here in Springfield, IL I was actually able to watch the game on TNT. Until 2 seconds after the first Bruins goal. Then it got blacked out.
I blame CHSN. I blame Comcast. I blame the Blackhawks. No excuses. And completely ridiculous. And precisely how you eliminate a fan base. |

I wonder if they bought LR one of those cool letterman jackets to be worn at the Winter Classic game, and if they did, do they force him to return it so they can give it to Sorensen? |

Crazy!
And now Garrioch chiming in with:
@SunGarrioch
Nothing to Brady Tkachuk to the Rangers or anywhere else for that matter. #Sens
Wonder what it would take for the Hocks to get him.

Interesting language with this quote from KD:
“You just want to do what’s best for their development,” he said. “Frank’s played very well. He’s been a real bright spot for us and his performance has been really exciting. I think I’d like to let the group settle here a little bit, it was a big shift, a big change. Let’s get a couple games under our belt, Rockford’s got a couple of games this weekend and the middle of next week. We’re always evaluating, we’re always watching. But as it pertains to Frank, I don’t think he’s done anything to hurt his case. What that means for recall, I think we’ve got to take that day by day and see where it goes.”
Maybe Frank comes up sooner rather than later. |

I think it is very strange for King to still be an assistant coach at this point. He has to go too. I am sure he is a nice guy and maybe a smart hockey guy. But it's just weird because of his history with the Hawks. - Ztra
Agree with this, the conspiracy theorist in me says he back stabbed LR, or was at least complicit with the problems.
