I mean, I don't think it was that cut and dry. He was a burden to canucks because all the wasted cap they have/will have, but he was only 5 mil for one more year coming off an almost 40 goal year. From what I've seen, his complete game has improved considerably already in Calgary ... and he was always a fun positive guy to have around.

He also doesn't hit. Like, at all. He's got 3 so far this year. Nor does he block shots with 4.

Career wise in 169 games 30 hits and 39 blocks as a Winger isn't gonna cut it with most teams. Especially ones that like to pressure the puck.

For sure, agreed. But 39 goals is nothing to sneeze at in the nhl, no matter the circumstances. Can't blame a second or even a third team taking a shot at growing his game enough to at least cover up some of his worts and get some of those goals.

If you paired kuzy's finish with podz work ethic, you might have something!

Absolutely. Nothing wrong with a guy that can score.

For discussion's sake, when he's sitting at 1 goal in 16 games like he is right now, most coaches want to see some impact on the game. A hit, a block, heavy forechecking, being hard on the puck etc., something to create momentum. That just isn't in his repertoire.

Exactly why the Canucks should if they want to build on last season.

Acquire a top 4-D.

I like him. Not the contract. Van wouldn't do it. Younger top 4 under team control a couple of years.

Look whose calling oil mediocre. Your nucks wont get by them in the playoffs. Once a nuck always a nuck.
- LFS

Odd response. What make you think the Oilers and Canucks will even meet in the playoffs?

For sure. I don’t think the departure of Kuzmenko has anything to do with Pettersons decline.
But it seems his game turned to turd once AK left Vancouver.
Anyways good luck tonight, Flames will be tired and the Canucks should be pissed off after the Oilers spanked them last game.

I remember, as a Canucks fan, how exciting it was getting another teams scraps & rejects when our team was a dumpster fire burning out of control. Those players (waiver trash and guys only worth 'future considerations) last, desperate attempt to stay remotely relevant as a NHL player.
Anyway, if a one dimensional, inconsistent player is what pumps your nads, then carry on my wayward son.

The game hasn't even started. Save a couple of excuses for afterwards.

I think the Jets are the team to win it all this year.

I hope Canucks come out strong tonight, Sherwood needs to paste every Flame player and Desharnais will hopefully put a physical presence into his game.

Brannstrom
Deharnais
Forbert
DeBrusk
Hienen
Raty
Sherwood
Lankinen

I guess if your team didn’t draft the player, he’s another teams reject? Trash?

I think I’m one of the few people that like Winnipeg, the team, city, lake. My father’s family hail from Winnipeg and I spent many months over the years on Lake Winnipeg as far north as Norway House.

Yup, Lankinen, Sherwood, DeBrusk, Hienen& Raty have all been unmitigated disaster so far.

Nice assist by Hughes. Haha real hard to give that guy poop for much.

Watching petey a little more, he seems to forget to skate when he gets the puck. Always looking to make a good, or at least not bad, play before he moves his feet. Really needs to relax and just do the basics. Somebody should buy that guy a bday shot … maybe a muffdiver.

Yeah I was just admiring how he controls the play in the Flames zone, creating chance then, ouch. More on Hronek though he should have had Rooney.

He may have scored, but he still didn’t move his feet! Haha muffdiver for my man!!
