So conflicting... Good to see Jarry have a good start. Hopefully he can put a few together and become tradeable. Karlsson must have got the message that we can't trade him if he plays like poop. He's had a couple good ones. - MacPatty
i know haha. but the last 2 years were worst case scenarion, just barely missing playoffs. Idealy id like them to barely lose and the def/goalies perform to gain value. |

What a way for the new guy to score his first goal as the game winner for us. |

Per Haase: Tristan Jarry has only made five consecutive saves to start a game one time this season.
Great job after that, but that's just crazy. |

Pens sure could use some of M. Granlund's production. 26p in 24gp so far with 10g. Where was that when he was in Pitt? |

Wow this guy RW shows more and more how little he knows about hockey. Comparing this Dubas led Pens team to the Bruins is laughable. Like they’re in the same boat . Stop.
Can’t stop laughing when RW tries to make the case that Dubas came here for a rebuild. No he wasn’t trying to go for it with the move that you loved. You know the EK move that also rid the pens of that terrible Grandlund contract. He is horrible and that 5 million terrible right RW.
Too bad Grandlund has outscored the 10 million dollar man by far last year and is doing it again this year - johnnypie
Looked like two teams playing an old timer's game to me, last night. I will say this, I thought the Pens were the worst third period team in the league. Turns out its Boston.

Lol... I thought the same thing. Pens were awful in the first and played a pretty decent 2nd and 3rd. Sid found his jump. It was entertaining because both teams are at the same level. I was curious about the B's ages and it's not all that old. Only 3 skaters were 30+. Pens iced 6 30+ players. B's just aren't very good.
Some things I noticed... Jarry was great. Tomasino is getting chances. Bunting stinks....I'd scratch him tonight. Beyond his half assed effort, he took a dumb penalty while they were trying to close out the game. What the hell happened to St. Ivany? Major regression since last year. EK played marginally better defense.
B2B wins. Woo hoo!

Jarry had a good game… Boston is as crappie as the PENS right now… could be worse.
St/ Ivany and Shea may not have known what side they were defending… but they aren't rookies either, Letang and Karlsson make up for that with saves of their own.
Rooting for them to lose just isn't in the cards for me. |

As previously discussed we are in on David Jiricek, Kirby Dach, and Nils Hoglander. I also saw a rumor (on a not so legitimate site) that we also checked in on Josh Norris. Who do you guys think we are trading in these deals?
I mean Hoglander is probably being discussed in a Pettersson deal with us, but who else do you think we are trading? Or is it just draft picks? |

Three in a row tonight, baby! Jarry seems to take a while to get going. I'm happy for him. Mostly, he looks tradeable now. Tomaino looks good. Those I wholeheartedly agree. I thought Bunting was to be a net front pest. Haven't seen much of that from him. O'Connor is the guy giving 'tenders fits. We need more Drew's and less Buntings.
St Ivany has taken a step back, maybe he's getting tougher assignments. I still like his future.

Real genius just like RW. One game proves plenty. I said Bruins are not in the same boat , they have 5 solid Dmen , a top goalie and some pretty good forwards all under 30. They are playing poorly now but you show me where the Pens have anything like McAvoy , Carlo , the 2 Lindholms , Sway etc at their age. Its a joke just like you .
Bet you they make the playoffs this year and for years to come. You going to do the same ? come on you have the Great Dubas to run things . Nice schooling you tough guy . |

As a prospect update Ville Koivunen has been playing well. I think he gets a call up before the end of the year. |

That was a fantastic job by DOC on that goal.
Bunting, his effort comes and goes. That's why he was available.
St. Ivany doesn't look the same as last year. But I was always concerned that we only got a small sample of him and that he couldn't sustain that level of play once the initial call up adrenaline wore off. |

as you said if we were to acquire hoglander+ its for petts. Jiricek would have to be mcgroaty. Dach.. idk i think montreal would want someone who could make a difference now. |

LOL! They looked like they were trying to get their coach fired.
Zero third period goals in thirteen straight home games. The Pens bleed goals against in the third period.
At least we know we're bad.

Dach is tricky because of his 3 million salary. We would have to be sending cap out. |

I’d imagine Doc would be a primary target with maybe beau (if he can keep scoring) Poulin, or accari as $ balancers. Accari has been good and can play C. |

He was pretty meh in the preseason. Seemed to flip a switch in the final game. Sounds like he's a real prospect. He'll get called up and play 6 minutes a night.

Well, Jiricek is over. He goes to Minnesota for a defenseman (dont know if he is any good), a conditional 1st plus a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks.
No way Dubas was going to pay that. I get why a team like Minnesota did, but we werent. |

Wow did they pay a lot for him. Good for CBJ. 10inch that may would be a big price. I am starting to like Acciari. It would be tough to give him up. Then again if Dach played like he had in the past it would be a good pick up. |

Accari has been good. What it really comes down to is determining what kind of identity dubas wants the team to have. I think I would trade whoever (beau for example) plus accari to bring in dach as 2C to move Malkin to 1LW permanently. Tomasino plays all 3 spots so I’d have:
Geno - Sid - rakell
Tomasino- glass/dach - rust
Doc- glass/Lizotte - pulj
Gruden - broz -andonovsky
Wow we have no rw depth lol. I’d build towards size, tenacity, compete level, which I know accari would fit the bill better than dach. Let some kids develop, earn their time and hopefully they can be sold off for some value until we suck enough to draft the next core.
No more bakers dozen of bottom 6 crap. Take flyers on people like tomasino, bring up the kids. The nietos and Hayes’s can eat dirt. Play like your life depends on it or ride the bus in the A. |
