Here is another number to consider when looking at the Flyers. They have the fewest number of regulation wins in the entire league. |

But they are not building a team through free agency. They are using all the means available to them which includes free agency. What is wrong with this? I don't want them to be a bubble team forever, do you? They got Luchanko and Bonk coming next year, maybe Barkey also. They have a good veteran core. They have draft capital and next year they will have cap space. The road ahead looks positive. - jd250
The road ahead looks positive to you and others. To me and others it does not.
We shall see if they are still spinning their wheels in a few years. |

The Flyers are redoing the Hextall plan to compete a little rebuild a little. Can that work? Yes but it has a small percent chance of success. So far Briere looks more lucky then good so he may fall backwards into it. |

The GM hasn't shown me anything to say I think he will turn it around. Will be curious how long he gets as the GM. Does he get a longer leash than the prior two?
Very small percentage which shows me they do not learn from past mistakes.

They will never tank. It’s the reality of the market and the company that owns them.
My issue with Briere is he doesn’t seem aggressive enough to do it without tanking. But he has gotten lucky with Michkov and perhaps Zavragin. If Zavragin actually hits like his numbers say he could, Briere doesn’t need that much more luck to pull it off. |

Agree they will not. Hence why they will never win anything. Unless the luck and hope mantra come to fruition.
Zavragin is a huge wild card as really who knows what he ends up being at this time. Either way it will be quite a few years to find out.
The market are not the brightest fans. They lap up almost everything the Flyers sell.
They are Flyers fans, not NHL fans for the most part. |

Is this a joke? Your ship is sinking rapidly. You need to stop bailing water and abandon ship before you drown. Everything you said here is completely false. Everyone sees the development of both young and veteran players on this team since Torts has arrived. You have no leg to stand on anymore. Example, Michkov is going to win the Calder and you say he is being held back? Well maybe since he is stuck playing with Frost. Sanheim was nothing more than a boy who can skate and now because of Torts’ tough love he is playing like a top pairing defenseman. TK is now the defacto face of the Flyers because of the confidence and patience Torts has given him. I could go on but it won’t matter to you. Why let the facts get in the way of a false narrative. - jd250
but he could have won the super calder |

You can say that about the majority of NHL fans. There is a reason the tv numbers stink compared to the other major professional sports. |

There are way higher up issues why the ratings stink than that. |

They have been spinning their wheels for over a decade now -- I do not see it changing.
I also see another epic collapse over the last 15 or so games of the season - every night is like a playoff game for this team -- they will run out of energy at some point |

He is probably taking games in hand, but what he is forgetting is you can't count them as wins until they do.
They very well can lose them both - SlNlSTER Exactly!! There is no guarantee that they will win those games in hand. He's just being a clown cause he's pissed that the Flyers are 8-2-2 in their last 12 games. |

There are players that could be moved and yet he sits idly by. That reminds me of Hextall. Let's have 85,000 draft picks, but make no trades to move the process along. |

And the Rangers had the most wins last year. The Bruins broke the # of wins Record. Both failed to win the cup.

Does the team with the most wins get a guarantee of winning the Cup? If you're among the league leaders or leading the league in RW's, that shows that you're a really good team. If you're last in the league in RW's, what does that tell you? Missing the point again.

i really love this from michkov.
i'm afraid of alienating kolosov by sending him down. honestly, feds needs to go to LHV and work on puck control and staying in position but i don't think it's going to shake out that way. |

Almost all are tradeable except for the few who have NTC or NMC. It just what else you may have to give up to get rid of them or what are you willing to take back. May have to accept more RYJOs and Petersens.
I don't want any bad contracts taken on, after this season, only Hayes, Ellis and Atkinson are still on the books.

Why don’t they have the talent? Is part of thag reason they type of players they draft and prefer? - furio16
If that was the case they wouldn't have targeted Michkov. The fact is simple. They havent had that many low picks. Last top 10 picks made by the Flyers were
Michkov (2023)
Gauthier(Traded) (2022)
Nolan Patrick (2017)
Provorov (2015)
Couturier (2011)
In the last 14 years the flyers picked in the top 10 5 times.
One pick busted due to career ending injuries
They had to trade another because he wouldn't even speak with the team

Just not going to build a winner with that track record in the draft. They also have zero cap flexibility year to year. Giving out long term contracts to almost any player who has a good season at the right time.
Hopefully they get it right someday. I am skeptical.
