I can't see MJL saying that. I think he would trade most players to get the young kids more ice time. - WhiskeyMan
Lol I agree but he did say it last season....several times.

he hasn't looked good since he came back from his injury. last season. he played well before walker though that could have helped him sure.
IMO when a guy like Seeler starts to regress it goes south fast. - login
Seeler has settled in to a bottom pair guy who probably played his best hockey last year. He’s hasn’t been brutal this year, but his play hasn’t been as good. I’m fine with EJ as the # 7. Good vet, good leader. Now that he has that 1000 game mark he doesn’t have to be in lineup all the time. |

The Room is who the Flyers should be focused on moving. He is playing 4th line wing on this team. He is a good PK'er. If teams offer a second or better he should be traded this season.
They have a few players that could take on more PK responsibility and they should be able to cover his 5 on 5 minutes. - mickel25
They should, hes on a pretty cheap deal and has another year on his contract. Should provide a better return than he would as a rental IMO
I think we see a Winger moved shortly. Tuomaala is making a great case for a call up right now. I would not be surprised to see a top 9 winger moved to make room for a call up.
Personally Id like to move Tippett. I really like Brink, Foerster and Farabee. Maybe Tippett can bring in a 2nd line C? Maybe Dallas in a win now mode might be willing to part with Johnston given his struggles this season. |

he did, for two years. Can easily go back to fletcher's last trade deadline here. was a huge topic of conversation. He consistently contradicts himself. it's hilarious. |

Agreed and that seems to be the case. EJ is sitting in favour of Andrae, Grans and Zamula the last 5 games.
i remember people laughing when I suggested that was the case as well

I'm often amazed what has to be explained. Let's set the record straight. The comment I made was not that he too valuable to trade. I made no such statement. The comment being inaccurately referred to, was made approaching the trade deadline during the 22/23 NHL season, when Seeler was on the first year of a contract with a 775K cap hit. The comment I made was that there was at that time, more value in keeping Seeler than trading him. When looking at a trade, numerous factors come into play. The return, value to your team, the roster outlook, cap value, etc.
That situation when making a determination to trade a player is obviously, to most any way, a completely different situation than a player being a UFA on an expiring contract. Where is took signing him to a 4 year deal, with two year trade protection and a significantly higher AAV of 2.7M versus 775K
It's hysterical that the two situations being completely different. Assessing whether to trade him in 22/23 versus when he is on an expiring deal a year later and many obvious variables have changed, has to be explained but apparently it does. Par for the course for HB.
In summation, my opinion was there was more value to keeping him in 22/23 than trading him. My opinion, a year later, with the situation now obviously different. Was that he should've been traded rather than re-signing a player to a 4 year deal and a 2.7M cap hit. |

There is no way in hell that Dallas is trading Johnston to the Flyers. Especially not for Tippett

The so called 7th defenseman has played 15 out 25 games. Zamula has played 17 out of 25. With both Andrae and Grans showing that they can both play in the NHL, and the Flyers currently having 8 defenseman on the roster, there was obviously zero need for the Flyers to re-sign Johnson. They needed to have their safety blanket. Trust me, Johnson is not done playing games for the Flyers.

Jett with 15 points in the last 10 games! But then you look and he is not even in the top 37 in PPG in the OHL and not even top 90 in the CHL. I hope the kid can start putting up massive numbers otherwise he's looking like a faster Laughton without the hands. |

It was reported that Michkov tols Arizona and Montreal not to draft him because he did not want to play for them. Michkov truly wanted to be a Flyer. For once the Flyers got lucky. - jd250

Still not a huge fan of the pick, but Guelph is pretty awful. Second to last in the OHL. It's possible he gets traded to a better team at some point (a la Konecny his D+1 year) and hopefully he flourishes. It's probably a longshot he makes it, but he also got the invite to the WJC camp.
Wished they had picked Zeev who is absolutely crushing it at Denver. |

Incorrect
It was told by his agents he will only play for big hockey 🏒 markets
Which only left Chicago, montreal and Philadelphia
Chicago was taking bedard that was obvious so it only left montreal and Philadelphia |

Regardless of the official story. The Flyers strategy shouldn't be to hope that elite talent falls out of the top five and into their lap.

Weak team he’s on. I watched a few of his games and must say every game I have watched…he’s the best player on the ice. |

Yes it is but the point is that the Flyers routinely block opportunities for younger players and have to have their safety blankets.

This may have been the case in the past but it’s hard to argue that young guys like York (who plays like a vet), Drysdale, Zamula, Andrea, Grans and even Attard (before he got shipped off) are being blocked. All are getting significant looks.
Its actually not a bad mix of vets and younger guys

That can't be true. He's a bust and another wasted pick.. at 18 I know for sure he'll never be more than 4 th line AHL scrub.. |

Late, but Kolosov is a goalie of the future. He needs to continue to adjust his game. He's eligible to be sent down and when Ersson is back should got back to the minors if he's smart or even back to KHL if he's not. There will probably be another call up opportunity, he should know that and might have to wait it out a bit. It's just his turn to be that role in the system.
Fedotov seems to have put his game together and it signed for two years. I am very happy for him, been pulling for him and he's a great feel good story. If Philly wants to move him at the deadline or in the summer fine. There are options here and Kolosov would be smart to stick around in the AHL to take advantage of it and keep getting North American games which would help him. |

That is good to hear that he looks good and still have hope. I would have picked ZB everyday of the week over Jett but want the kid to flourish. |

Johnson has played 15 out of 25 games. Players like Seeler and Hathaway shouldn't be on the team. Flyers are too focused on competing for the playoffs

I never said any of that. I pointed out his production is not elite in the OHL and the CHL.
