Sergei Federov has been coaching as recently as March 2024 for CSKA Moscow - and while there's the obvious Detroit connection (who may be looking for a coaching change) this article indicates there's potential bad blad between him and the wings?
i have not done a deep dive on his coaching strategies other than he likes to pull the goalie in OT
is michkov special enough to where federov would want to try coaching in the NHL. is that even a good fit? fantasy land stuff here, i know. i'm just very curious the insight a guy like him could give michkov. |

There are some trades to be made, but Danny Boy seems like he may be afraid of his own shadow. Time to prove himself with a couple of legit hockey trades. Frost and Farabee come to mind. It's like, I've seen enough from these two and they could bring back some good young pieces that can grow with this team going forward. - Phillywhiteout

Well that idk but there has to be underachieving players like Shane wright example
That you could get for a cheaper price - SlNlSTER
Wright is def not underachieving. He could be blocked given the Kraken have committed to Stephenson and Beniers long term but on an ELC I dont think theres any rush to move him.

just got done watching the flyers daily interview with kolosov and michkov:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iZ73Vd_Epk
I sort of wish the flyers would go above and beyond and find a Russian assistant on the bench and really cater to this guy. and not just an interpreter - someone who really knows the game. not sure if that would be overkill but I don't want them to take any chances. - gritty_committee

Ristolainen in the Finland squad. His simpelton Torts style has benefitted his historical awful plus ➕️ ➖️ stats. But his earlier years offensive chops is totally gone. |

I have no idea if Federov is a good coach or not but I would love to bring a European influence in terms of strategy and systems. Flyers could run the Torpedo system!

Exactly - obviously I’m reaching for the stars there but a European influence on the bench that shows him we are willing to adapt to him and not just the other way around - of course, that would require the flyers to admit they don’t know everything
Flyers have never been ones to shy away from a big name splash, be it player or coach (or whatever the hell Sharpe and LeClair do) |

I guess that little birdie that told me about the players making the Four Nations tournament was correct. Risto, Tk and Sanheim all made their respective teams as was reported here on Monday. Imagine that, the terrible 3 pair defender Risto gettin some lovin at the world class level. |

While I agree that Risto has been serviceable and solid - there’s only ~10 active Finnish defenseman in the NHL and they only need to ice 6 minimum.
still happy for him. |

such as? any names? - login No names in particular. That's why Danny Boy gets paid the big bucks. Good old fashioned hockey trades that don't seem to happen very much anymore. Frost in particular. I really don't want to see him signed to an extension here.

I gottalottta pushback for saying Sanheim would make team Canada a few weeks ago. Hmmm... Torts asst. coach for team USA. His coaching style is archaic for today's NHL though. |

Lol Torts is an evil manipulator who plays mind games and ruins the careers of players who are not muckers and grinders! That archaic dinosaur should be put out to pasture immediately! Nic D's 7 games played shows how much Torts is stuck in the past. I can't wait to see E Johnson play every game the rest of the season since he is a Torts type of player.

Im so impressed with Sanheim, i know some ppl on here don't think he is a true number 1 defenseman, but he been playing above we all thought capable 2 years ago.
Much deserving getting the nod for team canada |

Is Jay Bouwmeester a poor comparison? If Sanheim continues to project upward? |
