I had police friends that played the FDNY directly before that game, apparently the kid caught an edge and smacked his head off the ice pretty good and was a little woozy. He kept playing until he had a seizure and collapsed and ultimately passed. Second-hand info, so take it for what you will, but that's the story I got.

My son went to school with him. This happen the same night Massapequa won the LI football title (section VIII). Bitter sweet night for the kids
