Nice blog!

Funny how EP bounces back right after JTM leaves the team?

- VanHockeyGuy

He was trending up for 3 or 4 games before Miller left, but nice try

That's one way to look at it. Another way is it was right after he announced he dropped out of social media.

Good possibility.

No surprise. I think he's injured at the moment though. He didn't play this weekend in Vic or Van. You'd have to ask Reuby for more details. He's on decent terms with Mynio's Mom. Even got a bobblehead from her.

Quinn Hughes is just on another level, the kid controls the game and drives play like few others. "Hart Trophy" talk is starting to make its way around NHL circles on a national level.

Nice to see them winning, but their light schedule, as far as not playing better teams, is still concerning. They're about to head into a much tougher stretch of games, really need JT Miller back healthy and mentally ready to go.

The last thing this team needs is a quitter in a leadership role. His value is enormous right now. Sell high.

RD mentions Cole Sillinger for Nil's B*tch.

Do it!

- VanHockeyGuy

People will be very disappointed in the return. No chance they trade Cole for our undersized, underperforming moody smurf

I think leadership(poor) was the main reason he got benched. He had Lekker on his wing... an important prospect, an up and comer in his first couple of NHL games and Miller was putting on quite the show of disinterest and poor work ethic. Knowing what kind of player/leader/coach RT has been, not surprising that was his response to it.

It may turn out that Miller had a reasonable excuse for it or not but I do suspect that was the point. Miller had played worse games so far this season without a new kid on his wing.

I would love for them to trade him but I don’t see a lot of good “fits” around the league. You need an 80 point center in return because the Canucks wanna win now, either that or you get a 50 point center and a 40 point dman.

He’s definitely a high maintenance player, Miller, and as mentioned, his value will never be higher. He’s also a great player! It absolutely could be mental and physical exhaustion, he’s pretty banged up by all indications. But, I’ve never, in all my years around hockey, seen a player who needed a mental break during the regular season. Something is obviously going on.

There are multiple other examples in the NHL of this happening. Definitely unusual though

This. If it ever happened then the team wrote it off as an injury and swept it under the rug. Miller had legit injuries to use as an excuse and for some reason the team chose not to use them.

What could it be? Miller is not on any injury list, not enrolled in NHL's substance abuse program like Evgeny Kuznetsov did in January, not enrolled in the NHL's assistance program like Jack Campbell did last October for "mental health issues". These things are announced to allow teams compensation through cap relief and to stop speculation.

There hasn't been many "leave of absences" in the NHL. Artemi Panarin took one a few years ago but that was due to sexual assault allegations. Carter Hart took a "leave of absence" but again for sexual assault allegations.

So what is it? Why is Miller so special? Why does he get to take a break mid-way through a very important season for this franchise?

... on the heels of being made an example of by the coach. That makes it look even worse.

Why are you so upset? It’s just a game. He could be away from the team for numerous personal reasons. No reason to speculate

I'm juat not really one to speculate or assume. Could be all kinds of things and I'll happily wait for a explanation before any judgements.
