... on the heels of being made an example of by the coach. That makes it look even worse.

I agree. The optics stink.

Why are you so upset? It’s just a game. He could be away from the team for numerous personal reasons. No reason to speculate
- CanuckDon

Upset?

Not speculating. But the team's approach on this drives speculation because in the past the only reason a player takes a "leave of absence" is due to legal problems.

But we are talking canucks here, they find new and innovative ways to implode.

Tochet was lying when he said the leave and the benching are not related and they have a great relationship? (frank) tochett!

What's this have to do with what I said?

I was pointing out that it doesnt help make it look any better.

I absolutely agree they have a great relationship. Sometimes people are hurt more because of that.

Agree & not everything is for public consumption. Fans act so entitled at times.

So weird they didn’t just put him on IR…no one would question it

Exactly. It makes too much sense to do that. Take advantage of the cap savings. Call it an upper body and be done with it.

Instead, they do something that only drives speculation. I don't understand the end game because you know if Miller returns his absence is going to be the topic at every pre and post game interview. He's going to be under an even bigger microscope.

That's why I think he's done in Van.

Who would have guessed the pumpkin patch incident would be so scarring.

Except this site is based on speculation and rumours. I'm guessing it's a family issue that has bled over into his work. Happens all the time. Wish him the best along with his loved ones.

Yup. That's what I don't get. Why open the door for speculation around the player and organization? Unless they are trying to deflect from a larger issue.

Good to know people will always think the worst when they don’t have any facts.

In other news, the Canucks are up for another road win.

At Allvin's interview last week he stated the team misses him and want's him back. That said it's also tough to disagree with the speculation.

His wife deleted all her social media, another strange occurrence if it was truly just him needing a physical and mental break.....somethings up?

From X...

🚨Hearing on the Strickland pod that JT Miller has a reputation of being hard on his teammates, that he’s a warrior but why would he take time off when his team needs him? It’s not substance abuse related because the NHL hasn’t announced he’s entered the program.

One scenario they put out is if JT Miller crossed the line behind the scene, possibly with Rick Tocchet and the team asked him to take a leave.

Strange indeed. Don't think speculation is useful at the moment – could be anything from mental health issues to family situation (divorce or sick kid) to injury/performance issues... may as well just wait and ride it out with him.

Very coincidental it popped up with the Rangers/trade chatter. Not sure what the Rangers could offer that they wouldn't want to give up (Lafereniere, Schneider, etc), but it'd have to be an overpayment or someone like that for the Canucks to move JTM. Unless he wants out for whatever reason...

I read she did that knowing she'd get an onslaught of messages about him and the situation. Can understand why.

The drama that surrounds this team is amazing. Everyone complains about the "toxic" fan's and media. This management group brings this on themselves.

Don't think management brought this one on so much. It's definitely much more the fans and the media scraping for anything they can.

I'm starting to believe he crossed the line with either the players or the coaching staff and senior management told him to GTFO.....trade incoming. IF that is true and it got out, it would deflate his value a bit. So I get the secrecy to it.
