If Dobson takes out his man with a real solid check behind the net, that goal doesn't happen.

Great job by Nelson keeping Dobson from getting to that loose puck
- keaner17

I thought Dobson could have played the man with a hard check, but opted to fish for the puck.

Edit: After watching the replay, I think Dobson did play the man, but just didn't hit him hard enough.

Both misplayed it. Dobson turns his back to Nylander allowing him to keep his stick on the puck while Nelson lazily glides into them both failing to commit to the puck or a collision.

When I keep talking about players who seem to lack consistent intensity on this team, Nelson is the epitome of that IMO. I know he's beloved but I think he's one of several guys we need to turnover

Agree about Nelson. Best wrist shot on team, but generally shies away from physical play.

He's a decent stickhandler and skater with an elite shot. Unfortunately he brings zero emotion or energy to his game and floats A LOT

Nelly should have never went behind the net there. If Dobson has control of his man then no problem. But there Nelson should have looked to cover Dobson’s spot in front of the net.

This has to be goalie interference

With the calls we have seen I thought the same thing but you never really know what the NHL will do.

Seriously, I was 100% sure that was goalie interference but 50% sure the refs would overturn it

It was close. Much closer than Casey's offside.

We're playing a clearly injured goaltender and yet we're still passing around for the perfect shooting lane. I should be day-drinking watching this

This has become an Islander tradition. Score a goal, then give up a goal seconds later.

You have to look past the numbers with Nelson. He is very frustrating player and lacks intensity like a lot of Garth picks. He is another player who does not elevate his game during the playoffs.
