I never understood the hype with Dubas. To me, he’s the biggest ruse in the league. His pro managing has been disastrous

Barzy is just a turnover machine and Dobson is utterly worthless on defense

There's just no character on this team. They look feeble. Lackluster, out of position, lazy, you name it

Well, let's face it, he created this catastrophe. Whatever he was from 1994 to 2003, he is no longer now. This team is swamped with bad contracts, a lack of chemistry and seemingly devoid of character.

“We have to start winning hockey games if we want everyone to stay.”
Bo Horvat

This right here is exactly what’s wrong with the Islanders besides them being a poorly assembled team. No Bo. You should want to start winning hockey games because you should want to win. Not due to wanting to keep your group of buds together. That’s without even mentioning that you are getting paid to win hockey games. How about winning for the fans? These should be the driving reasons. Lie to us if you have to. Anything besides what you said.

Just rip the band off! Lou just start doing what every fan knows what needs to be done. Accept that this team is not good enough and make the necessary changes.

Agree 100%, the fact a team likes to remain together is a bonus not the main goal. The main goal here is winning hockey games, not who's house we are having a BBQ at.

The second period of last nights game was the nail in the coffin. There’s no stat for heart, but watching the turnovers, lack of effort, or simply standing up for a teammate, it’s pretty obvious the players checked out. I for one am happy as there’s an end in sight.

I’ll take it a step further. As a player you shouldn’t want your team to stay together if they aren’t capable of winning games. You should want them to improve rather than continue to lose with the same cast.

It was obviously team was headed towards trouble for a while now and Lou kept making things worse. It was never about having the best talent and it was about having Lou's players and coaches.

Matt Martin with 3:38 of ice time. Great guy, had a great career as an islander but this is a total head scratcher. He didn’t make Roy’s team outta camp, but Lou found a way to pay him back for agreeing to tag along unsigned. Now, when the isles are being tested by predators they become prey when Martin can’t see the ice. What’s the point? The guys ice time is less than his 5 min major which is what he’s here for.
