It’s nuts to think about lol this I imagine is why Drury is calling out guys instead of firing anyone. He’s giving a well deserved fu to the players for this exact reason imo

I don't buy the narrative that the team morale is in the dumpster because of Drury treating this like a business. Vegas has operated that way from day 1 and they have continued to have success. Tampa let their captain go who they won 2 stanley cups with and had years of success with, and they are still playing pretty well despite an aging core.

Drury is by no means perfect but this is on the players 100% IMO. They come out flat every game and are then playing catch up. They lunge for pucks constantly without moving their feet in the defensive zone. For years now, they refuse to play responsible hockey when in the offensive zone which leads to them being one of the worst teams in the league against the rush time and time again.

We pick on the usual suspects and they deserve it, but at what point are we calling out Lafreniere who has 17 point, 15 of them at even strength, and still manages to be -11 on the season? Compare that to Kakko who has 12 ES points and is +10.

This whole argument has a ton of hindsight to it. Sure now it looks like they should’ve traded Shesty. But no way in hell would taht have been considered a good idea after last years results. They were close and still in win now mode. If Drury had a crystal ball yea the argument has some merit lol
