Allvin already equaled Benning in year two, compared to what Benning accomplished in 8 years.
Allvin & Rutherford have made some excellent depth changes that Benning seemingly couldn’t do.
As I’ve said before, the one saving grace from all the losing Benning did was he got good draft positions which enabled them to get Petey and Hughes. So, in a sad kinda way, I’m thankful he was so bad at his job. - Pacificgem
It’s not just about drafting high picks. Otherwise the Canucks would continue to be another losing franchise like the Sabres and Sens.
The current management group has done better as you said. They continue by year 3 on building on their success towards Cup contention. Benning did the opposite of build. He took a Gillis shaped Cup contender and ran it into the ground. |

What lead to Benning putting together the core? How did he acquire those good draft positions to get Petey and Hughes? - Pacificgem

Lots of Sunday hate, maybe tone down the “hope you choke to death on your crayons”, but things are normal it seems.
Hope for a big win today, I bet they play much tighter than the previous game. Well that’s my hope as a fanboy. |

Maybe you should follow the conversation a little more closely if you want to inject yourself into the conversation. He was specifically talking about Pettersson, Hughes, Boeser and Demko. I'm asking him how Benning was able to get his hands on the great draft picks to select both Pettersson and Hughes. He continually won't admit that Benning had to fail, badly, to acquire those picks. That's my point.
He thinks Benning did such a good job selecting both of those guys, and Boeser and Demko, but he will not under any circumstances admit that despite trying his damndest to win, Benning continually pushed the wrong buttons and finished near the bottom of league.
You know who deserves praise for picking core players, guys like Jim Nill and his staff in Dallas who've picked three time 30 goal scorer Roope Hintz in the second round, or two-time 40 goal scorer Jason Robertson in the second round. Those are picks that deserve praise. You shouldn't be praised for being bad at your job and making a relatively easy top seven pick. That's the easy part. |

Hearing lots out there, from golfing and drinking with sources, it doesn’t look good for the Canucks. JT will be out another 2 weeks, also Demko is being moved one on one for Binnington.
As I hear more on the course and from patrons at trendy nightclubs, not to mention the wives that throw themselves at me, I’ll pass that along. |

Nice, pretty tame rebuttal but it fits with Sunday hate.
I actually forgot he drafted Boeser and Demko, they are considered trash so it fit with his JV, Gaudette, Joulevi, Lind, Gadjovich, DiPietro, and Rathbone.

I didn’t say I hope he chokes I said I was surprised he hadn’t choked. Important distinction. And it’s Neem. He is a worthless, parasitic troll that hasn’t provided a meaningful hockey related post in over a decade. |

Yes that’s the guy, you know that his 12 goals this year now put his NHL total goals to 39, exceptional pace for a player drafted in 2015, superstar material that guy is. |
