Flyers would have to add IMO. A winger for a d man straight up may be hard to do - corduroy
yeah probably a D prospect or a pick (or both ) but it's interesting to think about if Waddell isn't attached to Jarmo's players. all it would take is for zach to hint at wanting out . we'd be trading our best player so it's definitely a conversation starter. torts was gushing over him last night - his age/deal/position are better for this team moving forward than TK is IMO.
we have too many wingers and having a guy like werenski would instantly slot our entire d corp properly for years |

And is it even worth moving up if you are not getting into the top five? Going from 12-16 to 6-10 doesn't change much for me. Top 5 is where they need to be. I do not think teams will be willing to trade out of picks 1-5 to drop down to picks 11-16 regardless of what the Flyers offer. Assuming Michkov is not included. - mickel25
Caleb Desnoyers seems like he would be worth it as a future #1C but outside of him, you are right. They should just make all the picks since they lack not just high end prospects but the next level of prospects who could bring back something in trade. |

Laughton is never getting traded. His value on the market isn’t even worth moving at this point anymore.
My guess is they are going to try and move the guys they don't like like Frost, Farabee and Ristolainen. But Ristolainen and Farabees contract pose issues and what can they get for Frost right now maybe a 2nd round pick. I thinks it’s likely they do nothing at the deadline and put out their media lackies to say the better deals will be in the offseason. - psuhockey
I do not get the impression they do not like him |

This is my whole point. I think the organization thinks this could be a possibility. Just like the rumors of last season saying they tried to move up in the draft and couldn't. It's a pie in the sky mentality. Sure, its always good to have more picks, especially in the top rounds. But they have to hit on them. And their track record has not been very good in that respect outside of no brainer picks like Michkov. |

And as it stands right now, the Flyers would be picking 15(own), 21(EDM), and 22(COL) in the draft. While I believe their own pick will rise, the Edmonton and Colorado picks will probably be dropping lower in the draft.
Not much chance of finding elite players at those spots. Even if they stay where they are when all is said and done.
I can see Briere trying to package two of those 1sts to try to move up. But which team in the top 5-10 would want that deal I have no idea. - MBFlyerfan
they would be ecstatic to draft the next Laughton. Then pass off his number to said player. 21 is no synonymous with one scott Laughton. |

The devils strategy in OT is exactly what has ruined the 3 on3 overtime - ClaudeFather
Look for a rule change on that constant backing out of the o-zone whilst retaining possession. |

They passed on that rule change last off season. What makes you think they will act on it this off season.

Frost taking a some subtle shots at Torts in his postgame last night

didn't click the link but is this when he said the lines have been getting shuffled around a lot? i definitely picked that up.
IMO it was an unnecessary jab, especially after Torts pumped his tires after his 3rd period gaffe. |

Tortorella is the king of unnecessary. Tortorella did a horrendous job coaching in the early part of the season. He never allowed a line to get going. Changing up lines at a ridiculous rate

i don't disagree and the broadcasts never seemed to hold back in that regard. al had no problem throwing his hands in the air.
but if i'm frost i might not fan the flames in that scenario. try to get past it. |

I feel like Torts will get off on that. He wants pushback from Frost. That's how Torts measures his commitment.

I was thinking the same thing. Torts thrives on conflict. Positively or negatively.

I can’t wait until he amounts to nothing somewhere else. Folks will then claim the flyers ruined him. |

I doubt the Flyers think they can trade into the top 10. The Bruins thought they could in 2015 with 3 successive 1st round picks and they could not. Briere stated this past draft that they had discussions with teams to move up but those discussions fell through based on how the draft board went. The only way the Flyers are getting into the top 10 is if they finish in the bottom 10 of the league. |

Did you hear Torts talk about his battles with Werenski? The guy loves conflict! But I understand why. Conflict often leads two people to a tighter bond, that is, if they can get past it. |

All he has to do is keep playing like he is and he will get himself out of Philly…. As a Fan I hold out hope that he can still put it together. |

I think Frost is capped out, he is what he is. We are constantly told he is play maker, but now we see via Michkov what a true play maker is. I think Frost will benefit from playing with Michkov, as has Tippet. My hope is Frost puts up some points so the Flyers can get some value for him at the deadline. |

He is a playmaker. He has shown that many times in his career. Saying his isn't one because he doesn't compare to Michkov is asinine. What is next, Tippett isn't a goal scorer because he doesn't compare to Stamkos? Give me a break.

Pretty telling backstory on him from Kyper and Bourne, in Anaheim one of his legs was 3x the size of the other due to an injury and when Florida got him they immediately had him rehab and strengthen the other leg. He’s been a great goalie ever since. |
