Rolflmao "Matthew's one of the best defensive forwards in the league"...

Does Matthew's even PK? Is he even used on defensive zone starts regularly?

While I wouldn't say he is bad he certainly is not one of the best two way players in the league. I also think you could say like most forwards entering the league he wasn't very good defensively. By now an unbiased hockey fan may say he is above average.

Yes he is. Matthews is a Selke level defender. He finished 3rd in Selke voting last.season.

Lol. No he isn't. Eastern media may float him towards the surface like a polished terd in the Selke standings but it's garbage.

A guy who lives a sheltered o zone no pk hockey life shouldn't even be allowed in the selke conversation.

You're uninformed. Matthews is one of the top defensive forwards in the league. Both Matthews and Marner have the highest defensive zone start rate on the team among Leafs Forwards. Matthews averages 2:08 of ice time short handed per game. Both are high level defensive forwards and two of the best 2 way forwards in the league. I'd be happy to show you the facts if need be.

Not a luffs fan but Matthew’s by a MILE! Hugh’s is good but that “ people pay to see me play” comment tells you all you need to know! Spoiled little douchebag!

Last year, Auston Matthews finished third in voting for the Frank J Selke Award, awarded annually to the National Hockey League forward who demonstrates the most skill in the defensive component of the game.

No Hughes brother received a single vote.

You're not unbiased at all. You hate the Leafs to such a level that you post nonsense, which allows me to humiliate you before I've even had my first sip of coffee.

Buh-bye.

You cannot compare a player at 27 to a player at 23. Lets discuss this in four or five years. Any conclusions made now are probably wrong.

He's taken the 39th most DZ FO's in the league despite playing less games than everyone else in the top 40

Why are we even having this conversation, when we all know the answer to who's better, regardless of the other player, is JON SIM!!!
