I don’t think the move is for an unproven defenseman, no matter how highly regarded he is. They need at minimum one defensive anchor. Play that guy with Fox, and whichever of lindgren or miller remains gets bottom pairing minutes. Anything short of that is conceding the season. That’s just for the defense. Something needs to happen in the top 6 forward group too. And I don’t think that Drury should wait because we have a BRUTAL stretch of games through January 14th. Look at the schedule. We could be well below .500 and out of it by then

Kadri is considered a strong pickup for a playoff team that’s looking to add the extra piece like Colorado did when they won the Stanley Cup with him… so far three teams keep coming up more than others. The Dallas Starts.(e4). The NJ Rangers (e3) and the NJ Devils(e3)…

Provorov is who you’re taking about then. I just don’t think he can do that until the TDL. CBJ is still in the hunt. I could see Drury push hard for him in the summer regardless

Jones is the only defenseman, fox included, that’s been consistently able to break out of the zone. There’s no rule, statistic, whatever that says you can’t have 2 smaller defensemen. Not to mention jones actually does play a bit more physical than fox. The real problem is we have 2 other LDs that are ineffective. Lindgren is an undersized defenseman who plays a physical role and is no longer capable of keeping up. Miller is huge but plays like he’s afraid of contact. That’s where the real issues lie

There is ……. It’s that for as far back as I went (about 25 years) only 1 team has won the Stanley Cup with 2 of their defensemen being under 6’ tall.

Couple that with Lindgren being small also, and it’s a recipe for disaster. I’d put money this years cup winner doesn’t have 2 or more dmen under 6’ as well.

I think speed, elusiveness and size is a combo you need back there. And we don’t much of any of that back there. I do agree the size back there is non negotiable, it’s a must, but Jones in particular is not making it an issue as much as we (me and you) thought it would. I think he’s a keeper and I couldn’t stand the thought of him playing as recent as last year

i mean i chose 2 players that EVRERYONE in here would give away for a bag of balls..and added in CK because I figure its the only way zib would waive his NMC- and got back much more grit and size with Foresberg being the main cog i wanted back and got a center who is good on Dee and draws and could move to 3C and Chtyil moves up to 2C and imo- BS is at top 4 LD- i do admit to not looking at cap #s

Josi is 34 and Miller, as much as we hate him, has so much upside and is 8 years younger. Aso CK has a lot of value in the NHL
