I hope they don’t and the paying customers turn their back on this franchise. Only one sellout this season so at least people realize this product is not worth our attention, our loyalty, or our hard earned cash. - bloatedmosquito
It really isn't, the team is smoke and mirrors. They can/will play the injury card though! |

I remember someone saying that before, also, it is the only thing you said that I can agree with. - Reubenkincade
I'm speaking of the defence, specifically. The forward group is fine, they've just had to deal with some large "issues", the JT Miller locker room fiasco being the largest of them. And for some reason they won't or can't get things together collectively to play a better game defensively.
I've been pouring over some numbers from last year where they had their fourth best season EVER. Demko had a very good start last year, after the 35 games mark, where they're currently at, he'd already had 17 wins. Lankinen has 14 though. More importantly, as a team after the 35 game mark last year they'd only given up 89 goals, this year they've given up 112.
That being said, you just can't ignore the fact they've had some major injuries, Demko out, Boeser out for three weeks, Miller missed ten games, Hronek gone for a month or whatever it's been, now Pettersson and Hughes are out. |

The biggest issue is the locker room and that fact that both Miller and Pettersson's offensive production is down. Which probably has something to do with the locker room issues. Miller's a great player but he's a cancer in the room...so it would seem.
Hoggy's production is down but Garland and Sherwood have filled that void, and then some. At the end of the day they just won't play a structured defensive game together, which probably has a lot to do with a fractured room, they're not committed to each other.
Skill/depth wise they're a better team this year than last year up front. |

You're missing the obvious. They suck beyond belief wearing those hideous downhill skate jerseys. |

Zadorov only played 11 of the Canucks first 35 games last year, adding one assist and being +2 over that timeframe. He did average just under 18 minutes a game playing with chaos giraffe Myers.
So at the end of the day they were having success with or without him, both before and after he came. He's just not a 5 million dollar player so I'm glad they didn't offer him that much and he chose to walk away. They need to find a top four dman though, this is crucial if they want to save this season, well that and trade Miller ASAP. |

On the last paragraph that’s a bona fide legit reason no matter how others spin it. Most teams seasons would be sunk by now. |

I hope they don't trade away the 1st round pick this season. I'm not even sure this team makes the playoffs. - boonerbuck
This...of course is the danger. Giving away picks to band-aid this club into the PO's this year is not the answer. |

I think they’ll squeak into the wildcard spot, but that d is sh!t. Not resigning Zadorov was a huge screw up, the guy has rockstar status with Canuck fans. Wasting money on Deharnais, Forbert, Myers to some extent was a mistake. Still time to add some decent D, it won’t be cheap but not impossible. - K-man25
As of right now this is not a PO team but thing could change. Being healthy and Hronek back the obvious but it's gonna be a climb. |

I was going to post earlier that Sherwood should get an ‘A’. One of the few players that shows heart and determination every game.
I would take an entire team of Sherwood’s over this mentally weak, disinterested group of fucks we call the team’s core.
What a joke. No wonder Miller’s wife stepped out. - bloatedmosquito

Just admit it fellas, Canada hasn't won the Stanley Cup in over 30 years and their junior team just lost to Lativa. Hockey is no longer their sport. This is America's sport now, the Canucks will never win a Cup.
If y'all just become the part of America we can become a super-power on so many levels, including hockey. Think it over!!

Whoever picked that final roster on the Canada WJHC team should be in big trouble. 3-4 excellent players were left off are they going for a more 'repairable' looking squad considering all the controversy with Hockey Canada at present? lol |

Or maybe Pettersson can take a 15 game 'time out' like Miller did and head back to Sweden and find himself. 11.6 mil buys alot of flight vouchers lol |

The fact that they're currently in the first Wildcard spot with 42 points, despite all the injuries and dysfunction this season, is somewhat amazing. They're actually one point ahead of Dallas, a Stanley cup favorite. |

We smoked Latvia 5-1 yesterday, a tougher test against the Finns today though. We should win Gold...hopefully.

His wife finally saw what the Rangers and Lightning saw. The guy is a loser. It’s time for the canucks to cut their loses while they can.

Rules committee really needs to address in OT taking the puck outta the O-zone all the way back to the goalie. Something like neutral zone ice only. - Nighthawk
Don’t agree with this at all. Why shouldn’t they be allowed to use the whole ice, the goalie is a player, use him, create space, stretch the players, can’t penetrate, back out try again. |

Like the half-court rules in b-ball, I think Nighty is just trying to generate offence. It would make the centre line relevant again.
But I agree with you, it’s not an huge issue. |
