Are you saying it is pointless for me continually flagging you - Reubenkincade
yes it was pointless when the flag button worked, I just deleted them, I also have a designation that states this poster can not be banned. 🤷‍♂️ but carry on.
The problem with keeping Miller and trading Petey is who is Miller's next problem going to be with? He already carries the reputation of being a locker room issue. Is it Hughes he has a problem with next? Or one of the new young players coming in down the road like Lekkerimaki? Plus we don't even know if this burning desire to win you speak of is smoke and mirrors... so much is based on last season and not the rest of Miller's career... it just sounds like fan boy worship when he gets built up like that.
If they trade Petey, keeping Miller just kicks the issues down the road... - boonerbuck
Idc what Miller has done elsewhere it has no bearing on what he has brought to playing here. On all accounts he’s earned his contracts or more. His passion is both his strength & weakness. He’s not the anointed golden boy that Petey is. Miller needs more leaders to lighten his load. Hughes already is one. Petey is not a leader nor elite at his price. Doesn’t carry a line in the slightest.
If it’s trade Miller then fine but it won’t be Petey’s team at his contract that demands it. Miller drives his line normally where Petey doesn’t. Petey isn’t FO capable. At 26 he isn’t trajecting upwards in fact he is tailing off. Very lacklustre on the PP in genetal as in not being a high danger often enough. If Miller drags him down then I question his character.
The problem with keeping Petey is what winger is next to prop him up.
So supposed cancer guy with personal issues or confirmed uncommitted emo guy?
I say no to both. Take your licks, make the best deals possible and preserve the Hughes relationship. - carsonagenic
I can live with that but I don’t see both gone at once. 1 will go & then a wait & see would ensue. Pretty much a mid season retool.
At least we have a management group who are not afraid to correct their mistakes and/or see that change is needed and act on it.
I had such high hopes for this season after the success of last season. Oh well, life as a Canuck fan. - bloatedmosquito
I had guarded hopes. I didn’t buy it when Petey said contract talks were genuine distraction. That’s a weenie excuse. Pissed off he got over 10.5m after sucking the last 1/2 of the season.

You lost me when you called Miller a leader. He is not. Leaders don’t walk out on their team mates, ever. They just don’t. I hope that NYR go all in on that turd. He will absolutely melt under that media/fan scrutiny. The NY sports environment is no pumpkin patch. It will be enjoyable to watch.

That's why I agreed it may be best to move both... getting Miller triggered has you overlooking that.
Look, you are basing way too much of Miller's personality, leadership and "burning desire to win" on a single season. How much is your desire to win when you don't feel it's your job to back check, cover for a player who moved up or go shut the (frank) up and do your job instead of gliding down the ice waving your arms around female doging at everyone who is trying to clean up your mess? This was the Miller before last season and back again this season. Since Hronek went down, it is Petey that has been assigned the defensive duties while Miller mails it in defensively.

Miller sucks at leading. He can keep it together for a while but as I talked about last season, things are good... so Miller is good. The real test if he turned his attitude around and matured or not is when things are not going well... and here we are... again.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but this post is closed minded about one player. You don’t like Pettersson (there are many of you here that feel the same), so you discount the red flags with Miller and place blame on Pettersson, solely because of his salary, which of course he didn’t impose on himself.
And I also disagree with you can’t evaluate Miller on past issues, wtf is he doing here after being called out by past coaches. There are red flags with both players, Miller hasn’t earned anything in Vancouver, I hate his pouting, I hate his “ I made a bad pass and will slug skate to the bench and blame others”.
I hate Pettersson’s indifference, and aloofness, and his continued falling down.
Both players have issues and it is Tocchet job to correct it.

I mispoke. Miller takes it upon himself to be a leader. He needs to do it with his play on the ice & let others lead & be the voice in the room. He should not be so much front & center.

Enough of the worship already. - boonerbuck
The Canuck have worked hard promoting Miller as a leader. Can’t blame Nighty and most other fans for being mislead. Pouty’s comment in the piece below is too funny.

Fly to Chicago & watch the ShltHawks play again & again lol Vancouver has never played in one. It’s a made for America event. - Nighthawk
Please. The Canucks are just not good enough to be in one. When Seattle got their winter classic game, one would think that Canucks would be a no brainer to participate. But why would the NHL want a team like the Canucks instead of a team like Vegas?
Even during that Heritage game at BC Place, there was drama in Canuckland when Lou was sat. Eddie Lack? WTF?

Chicago makes 100% sense 👍🏻👍🏻
