Well thats the reason why they went after Laine this summer and now Carrier. Why they let go of Primeau and are now trying Dobes as a back up. They are not just tanking either.

it's still early in the rebuild but I'm confident that this management team is better than what they had in other cities like BUF and EDM, as they're able to make the necessary adjustments when needed, which means they shouldn't be stuck in rebuild mode for longer than they should be.

He may never get that chance either

All the teams have young goalies prospects in their pipeline. Some betters than others, but still.

goalies get hurt all the time, he can still bounce back somewhere else.

goalies are voodoo. their development arc is anything but linear.

for example. the hawks back up goalie soderblom looked like anything but a nhl goalie last season. this season he is 2nd in the league in SH SV% and playing like a different guy

Meanwhile, the career of RHP is looking to be going down into the toilet

yeah, RHP had it rough with his recent injury... I think he'll be fine and should be better next year, but I doubt the habs see him more than a very good AHL player that can be called up in case of injuries.

I wonder what is going on with Joshua Wawa. Wont be easier for him to make the team next season with guys like Demidov, Hage and Beck pushing for a spot.

a few years ago a guy like Roy would've been one of the only decent prospects the habs had, and would've easily made the team... hopefully now there's a healthy internal competition going on, so if he wants to make the team, he's gonna have to work his ass off

Good, hoping they raise in the standings and make one more move to upgrade before trade deadline to get to WC2 if they are still hanging around at that time

not a huge surprise.

in a way I'm kinda glad that he gets a chance to straighten things out in Laval, the Rocket will also need a goalie, and if he does bounce back then at that point he could always be traded.

yep, not really surprising with his stats. I thought a few teams could still be interested, like OTT or PHI. he now has to bounce back and proves he is better than Dobes.

either that or he maintains decent enough AHL stats to maybe generate some interest from other teams in need of a goalie.

he didn't get picked up because teams want a guy who's hot now, and not in a situation where he's lacking confidence and trying to find his game back.

true, but since it's a confidence issue one might think that a chance with a new team is what the doctor ordered. I was not expecting a contender to claim him, but a bottom feeder, hoping for a bounce back long term...
anyway, with Dobes and soon Fowler... he has his work cought out for him.

Thing with patrik laime is that a few players hit him so he tells the coach that he doesn't wanna play anymore
